Picturepark Releases New Content Platform

DAM vendor PicturePark have recently announced the release of their new Content Platform.  Touted as an API-first solution to route any type of content between virtual and real systems, it allows users to manage both file-based and file-less content within a single environment and enables unified, cross-platform integrations between DAM, PIM, MDM and other systems.  The platform was made available to customers and partners on February 15th.

Feedback from the IEN 2019 DAM Practitioner’s Summit

The Insight Exchange Network (IEN) recently staged its second annual DAM conference in New YorkDAM Federation member DAM Guru Program has compiled and published a two-part series comprising feedback from a number of delegates who attended.  The responses, based on a question and answer format, provide some valuable insights into the current state of the DAM industry and gauge the successes and failures of this relative newcomer to the DAM conference landscape.

DAM Vendors 2018 Pricing Survey Released

Back in 2016, the DAM industry’s first ever vendor pricing survey was carried out by DAM News.  Last year, the exercise was repeated and we’re pleased to announce the release of the 2018 survey.  Featuring vendor responses to a comprehensive questionnaire, the 7,500 word, 64 page report takes a highly detailed view of current pricing structures across five different scenarios, including in-depth analysis of the market, 35 graphs and charts, additional documentation and the original vendor data in spreadsheet format.

QBank introduces Video Analysis

DAM solutions provider QBank have just published an article introducing their new Video Analyze feature.  The new AI-powered add-on combines three tools: keyword suggestion, speech analysis and subtitle generation.  The module, based on Google’s Cloud Video Intelligence and Speech to Text engines, should allow content editors to apply autotagging and keyword suggestion to large volumes of video.  The press release also suggest that keywords can also be weighted, with automatic transcription of recognised speech being added to the video file’s metadata after processing.

2019 Create a DAM Good Dashboard Contest

To promote the new dashboard messages feature in their Collective platform, DAM vendor Widen have announced a public contest to design a dashboard.  With three prizes of Amazon gift vouchers up for grabs, entries must be submitted by March 20th, with the winners to be announced on March 22nd.
