Role Summary:

Our Sister Company, Annie Selke, is seeking a talented Photographer to join the Creative Services team at their HQ in Pittsfield, MA. The Photographer is responsible for product photography and small-scale video across multiple categories including rugs, bedding, decorative accessories, furniture, etc. for both digital and print use. They will work closely with the Sr. Photographer and Creative Services Team to guarantee brand and photography guidelines are followed and maintained. They will also help with social media photography assets, both in studio and on location, in close collaboration with our Social Media Manager. Behind the scenes, event, model and portrait photography and video may be required for social media or special projects.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Light and photograph new products in accordance with brand photo standards and scheduled campaign launch dates to show the features and benefits of each product. Shots include silhouette, stack, details, vignettes and styled beauty shots.  
  • Light in-studio sets, such as main product bedding sets and rug vignette sets, and capture video for 10-second PDP video to show features and benefits of each product for brand website.  
  • Work closely with the Senior Social Media Manager to conceptualize, set up, style, and execute photography for social media use across various platforms. Discuss and brief social media content needs and goals prior to campaign shoot with Sr. Photographer, Photo Producer, and Social Media Manager to ensure efficiency.
  • Follow photography guidelines and maintain brand standards. Assist in the development of new product shots with Creative Services Team when new product is developed.
  • Work independently or direct a small freelance crew (PA, Gaffer, etc.) to capture partial interiors and vignettes while on location.

Qualifications & Education:  

  • 4-year degree in photography or comparable work experience
  • Able to control light with natural, strobe, or combination of both to give a realistic feeling and sense of being on location, and not in studio. Must be able to make the images repeatable by yourself +1 other photographer when designing a lighting schematic.
  • Experience with Canon DSLR and mirrorless cameras, Capture One, Strobes (Profoto), Hot Lights (Felix, Aperature), Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, MAC OS, AirTable, and Digital Asset Management systems. Tethered shooting is required.
  • Detail oriented and able to keep all digital files organized for easy retrieval. Proper file naming, handling and uploading of assets to DAM system for color correction team required.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively and have an eye for detail.
  • Willing to travel for multi-day photo shoots; location shoots can be upwards of 5 days.
  • Able to work with and direct models.
  • Prior experience with soft goods and textiles is desired.
  • Experience in color correction and color-theory is helpful.
