GENERAL SUMMARY
At its core, the Manager, Digital Assets is responsible for bringing order to creative content chaos, ensuring that all digital assets meet clear, minimum brand standards, are managed within the centralized Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, The Suite, and integrate with other content management systems. The Manager, Digital Assets will be key in the intake and assessment of assets, as well as responsible for maintaining best practices for storage and sharing, making content readily available to all business users in a timely fashion.
The ideal candidate should have experience in the design process, both print and digital, as a graphic designer or photo editor, and experience with asset curation as a DAM system administrator and first-hand knowledge of DAM best practices.
This role will also lead the efforts in assessing the quality and state of images currently being stored in our DAM solution. Images that do not meet our organization’s quality standards will need to be enhanced by the Manager, Digital Assets by digital re-touching or replaced all together. This role will also be a “Customer Facing” role, as discussions with both internal and external partners will take place on a daily basis.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
Under the general supervision of the Chief Creative Officer, the Manager, Digital Assets is a member of the Creative Services team, but works closely with Marketing and IT, and will provide support to other Preferred Hotels & Resorts business segments.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES•Acts as the primary liaison between internal business units and external hotel partners in managing assets ingested and shared from the DAM
•Take inventory of all current assets, apply standard naming conventions, methods of DAM best practice, as well as quality review and any necessary edits or adjustment of images
•Provide administrative functions within the DAM solution, but not limited to; users account creation, permission settings, taxonomy configurations, metadata model revisions, and data archiving
•Provide initial QA check on all assets prior to making them available to business users within Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ DAM solution. Must have experience working within a creative/design environment. (Print and Digital).
•Work closely with Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ IT/Engineering teams in leveraging support when needed
•Managing issue tracking/resolution process and troubleshooting of any issues that arise of the DAM system
•Understanding of data analytics within a DAM system and generating regular reports and analysis
•Drive the progress, growth, and maturity of our asset management practices by maintaining industry knowledge on current solutions available, asset management trends, and general (industry) media production trends
•Identify unique ways to improve the organization and management of the digital asset life cycle, archives management, and asset cataloging
•Provide training to new users of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts DAM, The Suite.
•Maintain close rapport with the DAM vendor for updates and new releases (bug fixes, patches, feature requests and new functionality)
QUALIFICATIONS
•Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the digital asset management space.
•Experienced in administrating and managing DAM/MAM systems as this position will serve as Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ digital asset management repository.
•Graphic design experience/understanding is a must
•Must be knowledgeable in various file type formats (audio, video, image and document) file type extensions.
•Must have expertise with Adobe applications (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
•Must have thorough understanding of file format and resolution configurations for optimized display settings.
•Thorough understanding of data security best practices a plus.
•Keen design sense and ability to select/source images that best represent the Preferred Hotels & Resorts brand.
