Director, MarTech

The Director, MarTech will report to the VP Growth in Marketing, under the Chief Customer Officer. This role connects customer marketing with data & tech within the organization. This role proactively looks for opportunities to enhance the current MarTech setup while supporting and developing their team to work effectively and efficiently.

The Director, MarTech spearheads the strategic plan and development of our future MarTech stack (CRM, Paid Social, SEM etc.) and ways of working through identifying the needs in the team, our operational gaps, and marketing developments. This role collaborates with numerous teams across The Bay’s matrix organization, including the Customer Experience (Product) team, the Creative Marketing team, the Tech team, and many more.

This role will actively support our DE&I framework by identifying opportunities to increase and promote diversity in our teams, products and brands. They will lead with inclusion to nurture our OneTeam culture by removing barriers for our Associates and communities.

What You Will Do:

  • Serve as the champion for marketing technology initiatives at The Bay
  • Proactively look for opportunities to enhance The Bay’s current MarTech setup
  • Define how the organization can maximize value by building APIs and connecting existing services to marketing channels to deliver on organizational growth objectives
  • Collaborate with the Data & Tech teams to build and map out data pipelines and integrations that connect data warehouse data to cloud services and 3rd party tools
  • Automate laborious manual tasks to get campaigns out by reviewing current ways of working and suggesting better, updated alternatives
  • Identify and resolve technical requests from our Tech team
  • Collaborate with our Creative Marketing team and our channel owners to decide the most efficient ways to produce and leverage content via our existing Digital Assets Management (DAM) system
  • Directionally lead product managers that support all MarTech and Data Foundation initiatives - to design, plan, and build omni-channel marketing solutions
  • Provide suggestions and recommendations for enterprise marketing platforms to solve client needs
What You Will Need:

  • 5-7 years of marketing-related leadership experience, ideally in technology and operations roles
  • Experience in managing the integration of marketing application software across an organization’s marketing technology landscape
  • Strong understanding of marketing, marketing technology process models, and various marketing principles
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS and Liquid code (mySQL would be an asset)
  • Ability to bring personalization to life across free and owned channels
  • Ability to think fast, work proactively, and remain diligent in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to influence, build relationships, and communicate effectively in a matrix organization
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical jargon to non-technical stakeholders
  • A genuine interest in the marketing and technology fields and a desire to advance the organization’s current MarTech processes
