The Digital Asset Manager (DAM) is responsible for the e-commerce, wholesale and any editorial image and video content produced by the Creative Services department and its vendor/agency partners.  Overall, the DAM is responsible for timely fulfillment, delivery and meticulous tracking of all product photography and editorial image assets created by the Marketing and Creative services team. This person keeps project records up to date daily and proactively flags potential issues that impact timing, delivery or budget. Responsibilities include image color correction, retouching, and retouching/photo editing management. Opportunities are available to participate as a project lead or team member on projects that focus on digital image assets.

The DAM supports the process for e-commerce and wholesale product detail pages (PDP) photo production by overseeing all photo and video assets for the Lucky Brand e-commerce platform and Lucky Brand internal clients including licensee and wholesale accounts. This associate works closely with the studio producer and sample manager to create shot lists for on-model and flat photography shoots and serves as a digital technician on set, overseeing the naming conventions and organization for on-model photography. The DAM also works closely with the on-set Art Director to process out selects from each photoshoot to be sent to retouchers, ensuring images are color-corrected, on spec and maintain brand standards before uploading the assets to the website for product activation. The DAM must manage, track and report the assets from shoot date, to retouching status and the upload status of the assets to the website image bank for product activation.

The DAM supports the process for editorial and brand photography by creating shot lists for campaign, featured content and licensee shoots while maintaining Lucky Brand’s library of Marketing digital assets including image names, new photography and archiving. The role is responsible for timely fulfillment and delivery of image asset requests and inquiries from internal and external sources. This person oversees communication with retouchers and works closely with the Creative Director to dictate color correction and photo editing.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage shot lists for photoshoots – maintaining naming convention standards and organization.
  • Monitor selects from photoshoots and process for retouching, managing distribution of finalized assets to internal and external teams.
  • Manage the retouch team including internal and external resources, assign retouching deadlines based on product go-live dates
  • Update the Sample / Image Tracker excel, provide image upload list to web merch so they can activate styles on the site that have inventory.
  • Rectify any lagging styles; liaise with merch assistants, sample manager, and producers to resolve any outstanding image needs.
  • Process invoices through producer and track any costs pertaining to asset management including retouch fees, Global Edit licensee costs, etc. and forecast costs by season
  • Ensure all photos, including swatches, are received, QA, and uploaded to internal image bank in a timely manner
  • Set up and maintain a digital asset management system that will allow users to quickly search and find cataloged shoots/ marketing assets
  • Archives and manages the department’s image bank
  • Process raw images using the appropriate software and maintain quality assurance
  • Upload metadata to Globaledit image management system for online, catalog, PR flats, editorial, and social/blog images
  • Ensures information from photo shoots are captured and communicated including selects, retouching comments, color correction notes and alternate shot locations
  • Identify new technology, including resources for curating/editing/marketing of images
  • Identify unique ways to organize the entire digital asset lifecycle from creation to distribution, production, and archiving
  • Perform image retouching including clean up, outlining, color correction/shifting, extending, resizing, silhouetting and merging images
  • Communicate image availability and retouching schedule to team members per shoot
  • Manage multiple image requests and deadlines by priority to ensure on-going business needs
  • Cross functional partnerships with digital marketing team
  • Partnership with Art Director and SR Creative Director
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in using Photoshop, InDesign, Bridge, Lightroom, Capture One Pro and Premier Pro
  • Strong skill with design, video and image file formats and manipulation, FTPs, file compression, MAC OS, digital formats
  • 3+ years of experience in content management, digital asset management (DAM), managing large digital libraries of photo & videos.
  • 3+ years of experience in photo shoot, ecommerce, retail or fashion is a plus
  • Meticulous with attention to detail and organized with excellent follow up skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, creative environment
  • Solution oriented, with ability to resolve timeline restraints
  • Knowledge of photo and footage rights and permissions a plus
  • Agency or Studio experience is a plus
