Job Description

2021 is an exciting year for Novartis as we accelerate our growth in the digital space.

The Digital Asset Management (DAM) Lead manages the delivery of services related to the DAM system, supports DAM users in uploading assets to the DAM, searches and retrieves existing assets on the DAM, and delivers reports on DAM usage. This individual in this role may also work with promotional material review & IT personnel to upload, manage, and distribute e-mail template content and other closed loop marketing assets within a promotional review & distribution system.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain DAM governance and provide ongoing development of related documentation to ensure current, appropriate asset archival with minimal duplication
  • Create, modify, and maintain metadata and taxonomy principles and structure related to DAM; optimize DAM content for quality and searchability
  • Partner with promotional material review colleagues to ensure compliant management of DAM assets, with potential to also manage CLM-related distribution, through confirmation of current status / approval(s), asset integrity, expiration oversight, and related business partner communications
  • Potential to collaborate with IT colleagues to compliantly upload, activate, and distribute CLM assets (e.g., e-mail templates) to end users (e.g., Sales Force personnel) within the promotional review & distribution system
  • Curate and manage asset collection to ensure current, streamlined, and easily searchable library for end users
  • Create/approve job descriptions, successful onboarding, and oversight for team of DAM Librarians to meet the current and future needs of US Pharma

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science (Library, Computers, , Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree(s) in business, information science, or computer science may also be considered.

Required Experience:

  • 5-7 years managing DAM libraries/Librarians required, with metadata and/or digital collection management, especially multimedia formats preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech company preferred
  • Direct experience managing and distributing assets within a CLM system preferred
  • Experience operating within or in conjunction with a pharmaceutical/biotech promotional material review committee preferred
  • Experience in technical user training and technical customer support desirable
  • Must have advanced user expertise with asset repositories, especially a DAM system
  • Proficient in understanding creative asset files and linking related content in accordance with established guidelines
  • Proficient in understanding and maintaining metadata/taxonomy schemes, as well as best practices for system navigation and content search and retrieval
  • Experience with Aprimo Digital Asset Management systems highly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work with other teams to build relationships and alignment
  • Advanced understanding of human information seeking behavior
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and respond effectively to demands from different system users
  • Proven ability to influence and manage agencies and partners
  • Works with a sense of urgency, efficiency, and attention to detail
