A number of DAM and related events are happening next week.

The library and information association CILIP will be presenting Copyright the Card Game on Monday 16th November.  This half-day online training session, based on the popular card game by copyrightliteracy.org‘s Chris Morrison and Jane Secker, aims to furnish library staff with the key concepts and practicalities of copyright, including:

  • The ability to apply the basics of UK copyright law to the primary activities of libraries and archives
  • An awareness and understanding of the main licences and copyright exceptions that are relevant to libraries and archives
  • An understanding of issues related to copyright and the digital environment
  • A framework to help them deal with other copyright queries in their own institution

All the resources, including the Card Game, are licensed under Creative Commons and available for delegates to use in their own organisations to teach others about copyright.  This training programme is particularly suitable for those with a basic or minimal level of understanding about copyright for library and information staff across all sectors.”  [Read More]
