Updated Edition Of “Digital Asset Management: Content Architectures, Project Management, and Creating Order Out of Media Chaos”

Elizabeth Keathley from Atlanta Metadata Authority has published a new edition of her textbook: Digital Asset Management: Content Architectures, Project Management, and Creating Order Out of Media Chaos.  In addition to over 30% of the material being re-written by Elizabeth, the update includes a preface by Henrik De Gyor and also an additional chapter on managing risk for DAM projects contributed by myself.   As well as the various Kindle and print editions, a special bundle containing the PDF, MOBI and HTML versions is available from the Atlanta Metadata Authority website.

A point I have observed on our write-up of DAM books is that while some of the older ones might have been reasonable titles when they were first written, they can get out of date quite quickly (especially as many discuss the technical and implementation aspects in some detail).  As such, it’s important that these get revised and updated every few years so they remain relevant and its good to see this one get a refresh as it one the two publications I consider to be the pre-eminent authoritative texts on our subject (the other being David Diamond’s DAM Survival Guide: Digital Asset Management Initiative Planning).
