Summary: The video editor is responsible for creatively assembling, editing, and manipulating video content across various channels, mainly focusing on Youtube and our on-demand classes. The Video Editor works closely with our Video Producer and plays a crucial role in delivering engaging visual experiences to our consumers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Edits video footage and delivers polished output, ensuring a high level of quality. This includes cutting clips, adding transitions, applying effects, and incorporating audio elements.
  • Handles all aspects of post-production, including color correction, audio mixing, and finalizing videos for distribution.
  • Demonstrates quality control by reviewing and revising videos as needed to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project goals.
  • Prioritizes operational excellence, ensuring that video output is high quality, on time, and efficient.
  • Works collaboratively and maintains strong relationships with cross-functional teams, primarily creative, editorial, and social.
  • Works within the brand framework, continuing the creative evolution of the brand.
  • Manages, saves, and organizes video files in correlation with the established processes and procedures of our DAM (digital asset management) system and local video storage systems.
  • Supports both ongoing improvements and new initiatives by keeping a pulse on industry trends and advancements.
  • Organizes and maintains project files and backups locally.
Experience and Education:

  • 5 years video editing experience
  • Short to mid form editing experience
  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous work that demonstrates editing capabilities.
  • Proficient in video editing software such as, but not limited to, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Davinci Resolve
  • 6k raw post-production workflows
  • Experience working cross functionally, specifically on complex projects requiring collaboration, stakeholder involvement, and direct decision making.
  • College degree a plus.

  • Creativity: Ability to think innovatively and translate concepts into visually compelling stories through effective editing techniques. Experiments with different editing techniques to achieve desired results.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of video formats, codecs, frame rates, and resolution, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure precise composition, lighting, angles, etc. with the ability to meticulously edit to produce polished content
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: The capability to work effectively with an in-house studio team; contributes to group efforts; and builds positive working relationships.
  • Understanding of Branding: Awareness of the King Arthur brand identity and marketing objectives to align the content accordingly.
  • Time Management & Efficiency: Prioritization of tasks and allocating sufficient time to complete each stage of the editing process. This includes organizing a streamlined workflow, setting realistic timelines for different tasks, and adhering to a production schedule.
