We’re looking for a Taxonomist to help build taxonomies that support personalized player
experiences across our portfolio of games and channels. You will work as part of a small team of passionate information science professionals, made up of ontologists, taxonomists, content modelers, product and project managers, and knowledge engineers. You will report to the Sr. Manager, Taxonomy.
Responsibilities:
We’re looking for a Taxonomist to help build taxonomies that support personalized player
experiences across our portfolio of games and channels. You will work as part of a small team of passionate information science professionals, made up of ontologists, taxonomists, content modelers, product and project managers, and knowledge engineers. You will report to the Sr. Manager, Taxonomy.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement new taxonomies, with an emphasis on sustainability
- Identify and document taxonomy requirements through research into end-user needs,
- EA's existing content corpus, technical requirements, and gathering and organizing input
- from internal stakeholders and external sources
- Create new taxonomy designs and review with stakeholders
- Implement taxonomies in an enterprise taxonomy management system, collaborating
- with developers, engineers, and content teams
- Ongoing maintenance and development of global taxonomies
- Educate partners on taxonomy governance processes and workflows
- 5+ years experience as a working taxonomist
- Master's degree in Library and Information Science, Information Management or
- equivalent work experience and education
- Experience building taxonomies in a large organization, including creating new
- taxonomies and redesigning existing taxonomies
- Experience collecting requirements and designing taxonomy use cases through the use
- of information needs assessment interviews, content analysis, and task and workflow
- analysis
- Knowledge of the theoretical principles of taxonomy architecture and taxonomy and
- ontology standards (e.g. OWL, RDF, and SKOS)
- Knowledge of the principles of content modelling and knowledge graphs
