Key Areas of Responsibility
Platform Development & Design
- Assist with developing, designing, and deploying web-based assets across institutional platforms such as TWU.ca, Unbounce, SharePoint, Marq, and Appspace.
- Train and coach web users on the University’s primary CMS platform (Drupal) while providing helpful guidance, resources, and ongoing user training opportunities.
- Conduct quality assurance and usability testing to ensure optimal performance across browsers, operating systems, and devices.
- Identify emerging digital and website platform needs and opportunities across the organization and recommend optimal solutions to manage existing and potential challenges.
- Work with various areas and departments across the University via the primary ticketing platforms (TeamDynamix) to ensure website content is accurate, relevant, and updated.
- Assist with translating organizational strategy into action by creating compelling and engaging digital assets (i.e., web pages, landing pages) that help the University meet stated goals.
- Work with fellow marketing services team members to activate web-based marketing projects, contributing ideas and recommendations for creating effective marketing campaigns.
- Ensure brand, usability, and accessibility standards are maintained across website platforms.
- Maintain an active working knowledge of available content within the digital asset management (DAM) platform to support curating and creating web-based deliverables.
- In coordination with the Associate Manager, Digital Platforms, provide administrative support for the primary website while supporting additional web-based digital platforms.
- Provide technical and administrative support for assigned organizational web-based platforms.
- Serve as an ambassador for assigned organizational digital platforms across the University.
- Work alongside I.T. to proactively support web accounts, web hosting, domain names, routine web maintenance, and other web infrastructure requirements.
- Contribute to the documentation and implementation of digital procedures and best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to student workers (i.e., web associates) and contractors.
- Ensure brand and messaging consistency according to published University brand standards.
- Maintain proactive communication regarding project status with internal team members.
- Participate in project meetings as necessary to ensure successful and timely execution.
- Ensure web projects are delivered according to agreed-upon quality and timeline expectations.
- Successfully coordinate digital projects, ensuring a smooth and continuous project workflow.
- Administer project and task management daily in project management platform (i.e., Wrike).
Skills & Abilities
- Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative and effective creative solutions.
- Strong visual design approach and style without sacrificing usability and information flow.
- Proficient at basic website development within common web management platforms (i.e., Drupal, Unbounce).
- Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative software (i.e., Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Emerging understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design implementation.
- Basic understanding of web-based digital marketing tactics (i.e., on-page SEO, content marketing).
- Basic understanding of Google Analytics (GA4) set-up, monitoring and performance management.
- Ability to execute within established process and framework but able to adapt as needed.
- Problem solver with an ability to synthesize information quickly and deploy effective solutions.
- Calm demeanour with a bias for action and taking the initiative to ensure results.
