Job Description

Assists with analyzing complex business problems to be solved with automated systems.

As part of a software project implementation team, provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user needs. Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business specifications. Designs details of automated systems. May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues.

Job duties are varied and complex; independent judgment needed. May have project lead role. Prefer 5 years relevant experience and BA/BS degree.

Responsibilities

Oracle Advertising, a leader in delivering advertising campaigns to top brands and media partners in the U.S. and abroad, is looking for a full-time Senior Platform Taxonomist to add to our digital targeting business.

The Platform Taxonomist will join the Audience Data team, who ensures timely and accurate delivery of audience data to our partnership platforms. As a taxonomist, you will design, execute, and classify data into multiple existing client taxonomies, as well as consult on design for new taxonomies. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to execute and troubleshoot data assets to ensure accuracy, including working with our technical teams and clients to manage the impact of issues that occur during the building and delivery of our Digital Assets.

The ideal candidate will enjoy digging into enterprise systems with complex business logic. Our mission is to make data easy for customers to find, understand, use, and buy. We do this with taxonomies that capture anonymous web behavior, plus a full spectrum of offline demographic, purchase, and interest attributes.

The Audience Data team strives to make our customers happy, ensures that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met or exceeded, and quickly diagnoses and resolves problems when they occur. You will have a voice in the improvement of our data delivery processes to create scalable and sustainable workflows. All team members are in high visibility roles and have an impact on revenue and client satisfaction, all while learning the digital marketing industry.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience with taxonomy design/creation and data classification
  • Ability to operate independently on multiple projects
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel (text transformation, vlookups, pivot tables, text transformation)
  • Experience using Text Editor software (SublimeText, Notepad++)
  • Intermediate SQL Knowledge (joins, unions, sub-selects, grouping, etc..)
  • Able to summarize and communicate at multiple levels within the organization
  • Can embrace a continually changing environment, and a desire to drive that change
  • Experience with Jira systems
  • Bachelor’s degree
Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Library and Information Science, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience with digital asset management (DAM) systems
  • Experience with metadata production work and QA workflows
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Working knowledge of internet technologies (e.g., cookies, browsers) and Google developer tools
  • AdTech, digital marketing, and/or analytics experience
