Position Summary:

Ascension is looking for an experienced Senior Director of Content Marketing to shape and drive our content marketing strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creative strategy, digital creative production, content development, digital asset management, and brand governance within the healthcare sector. This role is critical in advancing Ascension’s content marketing and brand messaging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creative Strategy: Develop and execute creative content marketing strategies that align with Ascension’s brand values and resonate with patients and clients.
  • Digital Creative Production: Oversee the production of digital creative assets for content marketing campaigns, ensuring high-quality visuals and messaging.
  • Content Development: Lead the development of content, both digital and offline, that supports content marketing initiatives, maintains brand consistency, and drives audience engagement.
  • Digital Asset Management: Manage digital assets, ensuring accessibility, version control, and alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Brand Governance: Enforce brand governance standards across all content marketing activities, ensuring brand consistency and compliance with Ascension’s brand identity.
Requirements

Education:

High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.

Additional Preferences

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Creative Arts, Business, or related field is strongly preferred. A master's degree is optional but preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in creative strategy, digital creative production, content development (both digital and offline), digital asset management, brand governance, and video production, with a strong focus on the healthcare industry.
  • Creative Strategy: Proven expertise in developing and executing creative strategies for CRM campaigns that effectively engage patients and clients while aligning with Ascension Healthcare's brand values.
  • Digital Creative Production: Strong track record in overseeing the production of high-quality digital creative assets for CRM campaigns, ensuring impactful visuals and messaging.
  • Content Development: Demonstrated ability to lead the development of content across digital and offline channels that drives engagement and supports CRM initiatives, while maintaining messaging consistency and brand identity.
  • Digital Asset Management: Proficiency in managing digital assets, ensuring accessibility, version control, and strict adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Brand Governance: Strong understanding of brand governance standards and the ability to enforce them consistently across all CRM activities, ensuring alignment with Ascension Healthcare's brand identity.
  • Video Production: Experience in planning and executing video production projects, including video content development, shooting, editing, and post-production, with a focus on storytelling and engagement.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide and mentor a creative team to deliver exceptional results.
  • Digital Tools: Proficiency in digital creative tools, content management systems, video editing software, and social media management platforms.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey ideas and strategies to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Results-Oriented: A results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving measurable engagement outcomes and supporting Ascension Healthcare's mission.

  • Brand Governance: Strong understanding of brand governance standards and the ability to enforce them consistently across all content marketing activities, ensuring brand consistency and alignment with organizational identity.
  • Healthcare Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry, including an understanding of healthcare trends, regulations, and the unique challenges and opportunities within the sector.
  • Leadership: Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and guide a creative team to deliver exceptional results.
  • Digital Tools: Proficiency in digital creative tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro), content management systems (CMS), and digital asset management systems (DAM).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey ideas, strategies, and brand messaging to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) for video content creation and editing.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) for content publishing and management.
  • Knowledge of digital asset management systems (DAM) for organizing and maintaining digital assets.
  • Expertise in marketing automation platforms and tools for content distribution and tracking (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
  • Proficiency in social media management and analytics tools for content promotion and engagement tracking (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social).
  • Candidates should provide concrete examples of how they have applied these skills and software tools in their previous roles and clearly highlight their qualifications in their application materials.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of data privacy regulations, especially HIPAA, and the ability to ensure marketing practices comply with these regulations.
