Summary:
Mortenson is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Digital Asset Specialist to join our Digital Marketing team, within our Strategic Marketing group. In this newly created role reporting to the Sr. Digital Marketing Manager, you will act as the primary digital asset management platform owner and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our digital asset management strategy.
Working cross-functionally with marketing teams, geographic offices, talent acquisition, and external agency partners, you will be responsible for overseeing the organization, storage, retrieval, and distribution of digital assets to ensure seamless collaboration, enhanced productivity, and brand consistency across the organization. Additionally, you will advance the development of the DAM software, partnering with all users in supporting their learning and adoption of this powerful tool. Responsibilities
Highlights of your work will include:
Process and Data Hygiene
- In partnership with Strategic Marketing and group marketing, develop and execute a comprehensive digital asset management strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives
- Implement a structured taxonomy and metadata system to categorize and tag digital assets for efficient search and retrieval
- Manage all assets in the DAM system including uploading, tagging and asset organization
- Ensure the quality and consistency of digital assets, including resolution, format, and naming conventions
- Collaborate with vendors and software providers to optimize digital asset management system and tools
- Generate reports and analytics on asset usage, performance, and trends to inform decision-making and improve processes
- Regularly audit and update digital assets, ensuring they are current, relevant, and compliant with brand standards and safety requirements
- Oversee the workflow process for new digital assets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company brand standards
- Implement user-friendly search and retrieval mechanisms to enable quick and easy access to digital assets for authorized users
- Support internal teams and content creators with a consultative mindset
- Develop training materials and provide training to internal teams on digital asset management best practices, workflows, and tools
- Establish and enforce access controls, permissions, and user roles to safeguard digital assets
- Create a feedback loop with users across the company to ensure teams are leveraging the best assets available in an easy-to-use system
- Bachelor's degree in information science, library science, marketing, or a related field
- 3+ years managing an enterprise content management or digital asset management system for a large company with multiple business units
- Proficiency in digital asset management software and systems (Bynder, Adobe Assets, Brandfolder) etc
- Knowledge of copyright laws, licensing agreements, and digital rights management
- Strong understanding of metadata standards and taxonomies
- Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively, while also demonstrating self-motivation and efficiency when working independently
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
- Location: Golden Valley, MN. Hybrid-3 days in the office and 2 days working remote
