What we're looking for...

The Product Asset and Data Manager at Oatey Co. is the central authority for orchestrating a robust and secure digital asset environment. Responsibilities are multifaceted, spanning from leading the migration of digital assets from our current Product Information Management (PIM) system to a dedicated Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, to crafting a comprehensive organizational strategy that brings structure and governance to our expansive digital assets. By setting governance protocols and training team members, this position ensures our digital assets are efficiently managed, secure, and accessible, making this role an integral part of both internal operations and external collaborations.

Expectations & Accountabilities...

  • Asset Migration: Lead a transition project from our current PIM system to a dedicated DAM system, coordinating with external support to ensure the secure and efficient transfer of our digital assets.
  • PIM Support/Salsify: Responsibilities encompass maintaining our current PIM system to orchestrating its strategic shift to the Salsify platform. Ongoing support and expertise are crucial for ensuring both immediate and long-term efficiency in asset management, particularly during the transitional period and as a continuous organizational need.
  • Strategic Organization: Craft and implement a comprehensive system for the organization, storage, and retrieval of digital assets, including graphics, videos, product documentation, and other asset types.
  • Taxonomy and Metadata: Set up and enforce taxonomy, metadata standards, and tagging protocols to ensure the easy retrieval of assets.
  • DAM Strategy Expertise: Develop a user-friendly DAM strategy that meets the creative team's needs while being intuitive to navigate.
  • Asset Governance: Establish and enforce asset usage policies, create guidelines for accompanying content, and manage access to assets, including legacy files.
  • Team Training: Train team members on how to effectively use the DAM and PIM system, ensuring compliance with our internal policies and copyright regulations.
  • External Collaboration: Create secure, user-friendly spaces within the DAM and PIM for sharing approved assets with external partners, media contacts, and other collaborators.
  • Martech Stack Integrations: Manage the integration of DAM software with the tools used by the team daily, optimizing workflows for maximum efficiency.
  • Stay Ahead: Stay updated on the latest trends in digital asset management and incorporate best practices into our system for continuous improvement.
  • Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Take on any other relevant duties as assigned, showcasing adaptability and readiness to support the team’s evolving needs.
What you'll need to be successful...

  • A minimum of 3 years' proven experience as a Digital Asset Manager or in an equivalent capacity, with a focus on organizational excellence, maintenance, and active participation with digital assets in PIM platforms/DAM systems.
  • Proficiency in DAM software usage; familiarity with platforms such as Bynder is advantageous.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, an acute attention to detail, and the ability to manage extensive digital files.
  • Strong communication and training skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of copyright laws and other regulations related to digital media.
  • Experience in managing secure, collaborative digital environments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment.
Qualifications that will set you apart...

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite

Education and Certification

Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Digital Media, related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
