This role is a unique blend of Product Owner and Data Management/Governance.  This role will function as the Product Owner for product information management across all brands and will be responsible for its overall success. Success is measured through data quality metrics, customer engagement metrics, and operational productivity and efficiency metrics. You will develop the strategic roadmap and implementation plan for PIM data and technology in collaboration with other digital and business roles to develop additional product marketing capabilities.  This role will also be responsible for the overall quality and governance of the master data stored in the Customer Relationship Management Data Warehouse and Enterprise Data Warehouse.  These 2 data warehouses will be the source of truth for most analytics throughout the Enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategy and vision for Product Information Management enterprise solution
  • Work closely with the business and product management to ensure the PIM solution is an enterprise scalable solution across multiple business units
  • Assist enterprise with solution design, configuration, development standards including best practices for PIM environments
  • Produce roadmaps and translate roadmaps and features into user stories and prioritize backlog. Test and validate new features.
  • Provide thought leadership to monitor, track and review delivery of solutions to ensure adherence to standards and best practices
  • Work closely with developers and vendors to solve system issues and develop new solutions
  • Understand the application, supporting infrastructure, and systems integration for PIM
  • Primary contact for business users in their divisions for PIM related questions/requests
  • Identify, develop, and integrate business processes and workflows related to PIM, ensuring teams are implementing best practices within PIM
  • Maintain the product taxonomy and metadata schema through changes in the product offering
  • Help to create and maintain data lineage allowing users to trace data reliably to the point of origin and pinpoint any quality problems in the data pipelines
  • Responsible for the data quality and integrity of the data for the Enterprise Data Warehouse, PIM and CRM systems in partnership with the Development Teams and the Data Architects
  • Identify and assist in resolution of issues related to data quality, integrity, accuracy, consistency and completeness
  • Perform data-quality monitoring and measurement activities
  • Provide training in functions related to Master Data creation and maintenance
  • Work with IT developers to translate business rules into data quality rules and implement them. Monitor, track and report ongoing data quality levels.
Requirements

  • 10+ years of software development and deployment experience
  • 5+ years of PIM architecture experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information-related discipline, or equivalent experience.  Master’s a plus.
  • Experience in leading PIM system implementations and the development of product-related data models
  • Advanced understanding of business processes, standards, and practices around product data.
  • Experience in Data Governance and/or master data management
  • Ability to perform extensive data analysis (comparing multiple datasets) using a variety of techniques, visualizations and tools – to uncover patterns, predictions or insights
  • Ability to identify and mitigate data quality issues effectively
  • SQL Query experience is desired
  • Strong business analysis and project management skills
  • Experience in Agile development environments, capturing and managing business requirements
  • Team oriented, goals oriented, and flexible with proven track record in collaborating with multiple stakeholders and driving results
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communications skills - capable of developing well-structured communications and presentations, storytelling ability
