We are looking to recruit a part-time (0.5 FTE) Metadata Assistant to join the Metadata for Content Management Team within the Collection Strategies Directorate. The primary focus of this role is to work under the direction of the E-Resources Metadata Specialist to ensure timely access to and discoverability of newly acquired and existing electronic resources.
The post-holder will be responsible for working efficiently and accurately within defined time frames to ensure compliance with service level agreements and metadata quality control measures. They will also be responsible for ensuring bibliographic database integrity and interoperability by updating and enriching catalogue records both individually and as part of bulk metadata-management processes.
The Metadata and Discovery Team has a flexible, service-oriented approach to supporting workload, and the post holder will support all aspects of the Metadata for Content Management Team’s work, with training provided where necessary. Applicants will need to demonstrate the ability to work accurately, quickly and with attention to detail, showing excellent cataloguing and metadata management skills. Knowledge of one or more modern languages, other than English, would also be advantageous.
