Job Introduction
The Media Asset Coordinator (MAC) will be part of a project team whose goal is to retrieve BBC Studios owned localisation assets from various internal and 3rd party physical and digital stores, consolidate and provide visibility of assets with accurate rights information to multiple stakeholders.
The MAC will assist the Data Specialist with compiling and analysis of all language asset inventories with a view to maintaining a master inventory list (subtitle files, audio tracks).
Liaise with Global Operations teams and external suppliers to get the most up to date language assets inventories and coordinate the retrieval of selected assets once agreed and collaborate with the project team to set and complete project tasks and goals; report on progress.
Track and report spend on retrieval costs by leading the purchase orders and invoices processes and support the set-up of new processes to retrieve newly commissioned assets.

The Media Asset Coordinator will have the ability to handle a high volume of assets and data and manage several inventories. They will be operating in a fast moving environment and will be required to consistently deliver on project goals. They will act as an advisor to the Project Steering Group for all localised assets and inventories. They will be able to build and maintain excellent working relationships with suppliers and internal BBC Studios stakeholders. They will be highly organised, proactive and detail orientated.

Main Responsibilities
Asset Coordination
- Locate all existing inventories and organise the data into a single comprehensible set
- Identify assets for retrieval
- Liaise with inventories owners (internal or external) to coordinate the retrieval of assets into BBCS network
- Keep all inventories up to date
- Monitor ingest progress for retrieved assets against expected
- Responsible for understanding project’s requirements and transform into tasks
- Update JIRA tickets
- Deliver tasks and goals within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints
- Escalate any issues or blockers
- Build and maintain excellent relationships and partnerships with stakeholders internally and externally (particularly project team, key ops team and localisation vendors)
- Accurately communicate delivery delays, reasons and updated delivery estimates to key stakeholders
- Raise the Purchase Orders for Localisation in SAP if required, process invoices, handle related queries and track actuals in an excel spreadsheet, ensuring all costs are approved prior to engaging work
- The Media Asset Coordinator will work to the Localisation Operations Manager.

Essential
- Ability to prepare reports & communicate results effectively with stakeholders
- Experience with MAM & DAM systems
- Ability to use IT proficiently, including a range of software packages, Excel, Power Query, JIRA
- Technical knowledge of all modern media formats and platforms
- Ability to understand key project milestones
- Sound knowledge of programming across the BBC Studios’ international channels such as BBC First, BBC Brit etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to establish and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise in fast-paced environments
- Understanding of localisation
- Background in data analysis
