What You'll Do

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Master Data Management and Data Governance team ain addition to having ownership of the supporting systems and processes. The primary objective of the team is a focus on fast, flexible and accurate data creation/updates to consistently protect and increase the value of the company’s primary data asset.

You will actively lead and engage with the team of Data Analysts, external vendor partners, as well as stakeholders in the business, to ensure data integrity continuously improves and leads to increased shared knowledge and understanding of business needs.

Location: This position can be based out of any of our Metrie locations. This is a hybrid role – you’ll have the flexibility to work a mix of offsite and onsite, or the role can be fully remote for the right candidate who isn’t based near a Metrie location. Travel and visiting Metrie locations will be required for the performance of some job duties.

Your day-to-day activities will include:

Manage the Data Analyst Team to ensure service level targets are met while effectively supporting both core business needs and project initiatives as required

  • Supervise designated employees: communicates expectations; monitors and appraises job results; counsels and coaches; provides appropriate training and development; interviews applicants and selects new employees; audit the work of the Data Analyst Team.
  • Responsibility for the workflow processes within the company’s ERP system and related MDM systems.
  • Collaborate with business data requestors and Data Analysts to ensure quality data execution.
  • Assist in resolving data related problems which are escalated by the team through analyzing issues, discerning the most appropriate course of action, providing tactical direction and reallocating resources as necessary

Promote and manage the quality and effectiveness of Metrie’s master data

  • Participate in data definition, conversion, testing and reporting requirements to support business projects and improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for escalation of data issues communicating with business partners as needed to ensure resolution
  • Collaborate with internal business team members to ensure PIM/DAM data integrity and quality.
You will actively work to create/enhance the Data Governance Program within Metrie

  • Encourage and support the organization’s data processes in the most efficient and effective use of Metrie’s master data in SAP ERP
  • Communicate cross-functionally between departments to establish, improve, and sustain MDM processes and data governance (team, peers, management, end-users)

Manage system development and support activities to meet user needs in a timely and cost effective manner while ensuring completion per the governance process.

  • Administer and maintain the company wide data assets with a focus on quality and adherence to company policies, standards and procedures.
Participates as a member of the IT Management Team in setting and executing policy and/or procedures.

  • Develop communications and training to inform key stakeholders of processes, contacts, roles, responsibilities, project updates, and performance metrics
  • Develop and present high level data and data governance related concepts to the wider Metrie Leadership team.
  • Work with business leaders in developing and implementing  a Life Cycle Management policy for Customer, Vendor and Materials
  • Understand and communicate the company’s vision, goals, objectives and principles and works to ensure department alignment with those attributes.
We’d love to hear from you if you have/are:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree with a focus in Business or Technology
  • 5+ years’ relevant work experience in master data execution and management
  • 3+ years’ experience in Master Data Management in SAP ECC and/or S/4 HANA.
  • Experience in the Millwork or Building Supply Industry is a plus
  • Experience in one or more MDM ERP full-lifecycle implementation or acquisition projects
  • Excellent communication skills required, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to process and structure topics in a way that can be shared with others to help facilitate informed business decision making
  • Proven leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to support and develop a team
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office applications with high level Excel and PowerPoint experience
  • Well organized and detail oriented with strong follow up and multitasking capabilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and work to meet both day to day and project deadlines
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment, collaborating with peers and providing leadership or guidance as needed.
