You work with passion and energy. The Digital Asset Manager is detail oriented, able to work in a very fast paced environment, while maintaining rigorous standards. You have great knowledge of digital asset management (DAM) systems, system migrations, metadata management, and copyright. You are comfortable working with ambiguity, organizing information, and acting as a resource for diverse stakeholders.
You are quick on your feet and a proactive self-starter. You’re able to juggle multiple priorities at once. You are a go-getter that recognizes where challenges exist and you don’t wait to be told to fix it, you proactively solve problems and keep partners continually in the loop. You’re comfortable working in a complex DAM eco-system that includes multiple systems. You have a general knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and can easily navigate Mac OS. Experience working with product information management (PIM) systems, project management, and or dynamic media systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
- Act as subject matter expert for DAM at PetSmart; acts as a resource and champions the DAM system.
- Develop and manage workflows for gathering, storing, organizing, sharing and optimizing digital assets amongst all internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Establish and manage policies and procedures for digital asset preservation, taxonomies, cataloguing, usage rights, and metadata standards.
- Establish, monitor and maintain accurate lifecycle stages of assets including archiving and purging.
- Research and make recommendations on emerging standards and best practices in digital asset management including automation, system integrations, preservation, metadata, and rights management.
- Work cross functionally with both business and IT partners to optimize DAM user experience and system capabilities.
- Work closely with partners in IT for system maintenance and communicating business needs for DAM roadmapping.
- Maintain and establishes governance rules around sensitive assets. Enforces legal requirements for copyrighted assets.
- Create use cases and analyze user data to ensure that the DAM system is an efficient asset pipeline.
- Trains internal and external users on using the DAM system. Create and update DAM documentation and user guides.
- Manage and develop Digital Asset Specialist and Product Specialist, DAM; unlocking their full potential.
- 5+ years working with DAM systems, Canto Cloud experience a plus.
- 2+ years of people management experience required.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience in navigating copyright and terms of use agreements.
- Experience working with standardized metadata schemas and taxonomies.
- Degree in library science preferred.
- Experience with Adobe Dynamic Media Classic and PIM systems a plus.
- Experience working in a retail creative environment a plus.
- Knowledge of the digital shelf and E-commerce a plus.
