The implementation of the new finance system is a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a difference to the way in which University departments process and manage their financial transactions. As lead data migration analyst, you will be responsible for planning and delivering the Finance systems data migration strategy under the Finance Transformation Programme. You will be required to work effectively and successfully with implementation partners and internal stakeholders to determine and perform the extract and transformation of data and perform migration and testing of static data and transaction data from one core system to another.


The Role


The successful candidate will be required to perform data migration audit, reconciliation and exception reporting and lead on designing, planning and managing the data migration process and perform source system data analysis in order to manage source to target data mapping.

Key activities for this role include the production of data mapping (entities, attributes and relationships), and domain data model documents as deliverables with the responsibility for creating data catalogs, data dictionary, data mapping documents, and for defining the data models and data integrations.

The role requires management of resources needed for data migration to avoid bottlenecks and conflicting demands alongside the preparation of data migration plans including migration risk, milestones, quality, and business sign-off details.

Your Skills

You will be able to demonstrate a logical and pragmatic approach to data migration with the ability to adapt to meet the delivery needs. You will be able to demonstrate you have experience of data reconciliation and reconciling migrated data with Oracle EBS and Fusion data structures alongside excellent inter-personal, analytical and communication skills.

Alongside these you will possess:

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Extensive knowledge of Relational Data Models (conceptual, logical and physical data models), Dimensional Data Models, Database design, Data Dictionary and Metadata
  • The ability to identify and pro-actively manage important risks, issues and problems effectively
