Overview   

The ongoing GSK IDMP Programme has identified the need to build an enterprise data asset where Product and Substance data is mastered as close to source as possible, leveraging the IDMP standards. This effort requires skilled tech resources to assist and own various tasks & processes to successfully deliver the programme and maintain the information architecture going forward.

Job purpose:

The Information Architect, plays a key role in our IDMP journey. This journey is related to IDMP implementation across legacy GSK pharmaceuticals and vaccines businesses. Moreover, GSK is going through an enterprise transformation across data, process, people, and systems to align itself with the IDMP Programme goals and objectives.

This role will deliver plans, models and project solutions, in alignment to the IDMP Information Architecture & Management strategy, that ensure the current and future IDMP-related needs of the business organisations will be met in an efficient, secure, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner.

As an Information Architect, you will guide the IDMP Programme workstreams in terms of information architecture, data standards, master data management, metadata management, and data quality management. The Information Architect is also responsible for ensuring alignment with the enterprise architecture standards and principles.

Key responsibilities 

  • Undertake detailed analysis of the information architecture requirements across vaccines and pharmaceuticals systems and platforms to determine information needs across the data lifecycle in line with IDMP requirements.
  • Work with Lead Information Architect, Enterprise and Solution Architecture to guide the development of systems, data structures, data exchange frameworks and information management standards in line with the target architecture.
  • Develop Target Information Architecture for IDMP, to include (but is not limited to):
  • The business requirements for data capture, storage, processing, reporting and archival
  • The business expectations for the quality of the data
  • The strategy for data collection, management & maintenance
  • The overall approach to organization of data and metadata (transactional systems, reporting systems, management systems, data fabric)
  • The conceptual-level data design (e.g. business information models)
  • Data lifecycle management, including archival of data
  • The interlock with other strategies such as process, application, infrastructure, data fabric and business intelligence
  • To drive the adoption of data standards and data quality management techniques within the IDMP programme and wider business and Tech communities.
  • To drive the definition, design and implementation of master data entities and technologies to support the IDMP programme.
  • To keep abreast of emerging trends in data integration and design technologies and integrate them into the target architectures when appropriate.
  • Develop, maintain and socialize target information architectures to optimize the organization, storage, flow and integration of data across applications and processes within the defined business domains.
  • Ensure compliance with internal data security and data risk management policies and practices, as well as external regulatory and statutory requirements e.g., GxP, IDMP.
  • To drive the adoption of the Target Information Architecture on related projects (e.g. EU CTR, Safety/E2BR3).
  • Understanding and lead the implementation of FAIR Data Management Principles in the IDMP programme.
  • Recognises the importance of Data Integrity and ensuring systems are designed accordingly.
  • To drive the adoption of data standards and data quality management techniques within the IDMP programme and wider business and IT communities.
Basic qualifications 

  • Effectively collaborate with teams of data modelers and/or information architects
  • Good understanding of various data integration/interoperability paradigms: domain-driven, data mesh, data fabric
  • Experience with all artefacts of modelling information in an enterprise (business process diagrams, ER conceptual / logical / physical models) and associated software tools
  • Strong experience of Agile & DevOps
  • Experience defining information standards for source systems and reporting
  • Experience of design and architecture of BI and analytic environments, including, data fabric or similar architecture
  • Previous successful experience leading the design of Data Management solutions (e.g. MDM, RDM, DQ, Data Catalog, Data Integration etc) in a similar sized organization.
  • Good understanding of Big Data technologies, traditional and modern data virtualization and data integration/streaming technologies.
Preferred qualifications 

  • Ideal candidate will have certification in data & information management (CDMP or similar).
  • Working understanding of ISO IDMP Standards
