The Opportunity:

We’re looking for an experienced Director of Marketing Technology to join our Marketing, Communications, and Client Experience team.

This role can be mostly remote, however we will on occasion require you to come onsite to our office at 151 Yonge St, Toronto, ON.

Reporting to the VP of CX, Brand and Digital, the Director, Marketing Technology is responsible for enabling our transformation efforts through the selection and implementation of new digital marketing technologies to add business value, reduce customer friction, and improve internal efficiencies. The incumbent will lead and leverage the strong talent we’ve assembled to deliver transformational outcomes for the organization. What your day looks like:

  • Partner to build and enhance an integrated MarTech stack across platforms in support of the entire organization and its customers
  • Refine and help deliver against a MarTech roadmap to enhance overall revenue driving capabilities, in alignment with the broader technology roadmap driven by our IT partners
  • Own MarTech budget and licensing and manage utilization
  • Partner with Procurement for vendor evaluation, selection, and renewal to optimize MarTech usage and costs
  • Manage strategic relationships with MarTech vendors, including discovery sessions, enterprise strategy planning, measurement, and consolidation
  • Remain on the cutting edge of MarTech trends and best practices, and introduce new technologies that will help exceed marketing goals
  • Lead a team of experienced professional across content management, email marketing and automation, digital analytics, and SEO
  • Work with the Product Marketing team and our Agency of Record to measure and optimize campaigns while constantly seeking to refine tactics and deliver quantifiable business outcomes
  • Collaborate with peers in CX, UX Design, and Creative Services to ensure the alignment of a unified design system and language and delivery of excellent CX through a modern presentation layer
  • Understand business needs and how to unlock the potential of the organization through the delivery of scalable, targeted solutions that deliver tangible results
Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • 10+ years of progressive work experience and at least 5-7 years of hands-on experience with digital marketing technologies is required
  • Experience implementing enterprise-grade MarTech platforms (e.g. CMS, Marketing Automation, Digital Analytics, Personalization Tools, CRM, etc.) is required
  • Proven track record of managing strategic MarTech initiatives from end-to-end using structured project plans and delivering on capabilities promised is required
  • A working understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web-related technologies, including the delineation between front-end and back-end development tasks is required
  • Experience partnering with technology teams in roadmap development and execution is required
  • Experience managing and leading a team of skilled Marketing practitioners is required
  • Understanding of privacy, consent and preference management, first-party data, and the corresponding Canadian regulations is required
  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager and knowledge of the broader Adobe marketing suite is preferred
  • An understanding of how to leverage AI in Marketing is preferred
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
