ILIA is looking to welcome a collaborative, creative, and communicative individual to the Creative Operations team to support internal studio operations. The Digital Studio Asset Manager is involved across all aspects of the department and reports into the Director, Production. This role is hybrid for candidates based in Southern California.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient and effective functioning of the creative team by managing and streamlining the flow of assets into and out of the department. This includes overseeing the organization of files in our Dropbox and DAM system, and leading asset lifecycle management, including best practices for hard drives, image selects, contact sheets, and more. You will work closely with the Director of Production to oversee the asset process from photoshoot through final retouching/editing and delivery. Additionally, you will handle some project coordination, production support, light retouching, and file release for complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
Asset Management:
- Manage and communicate the flow of assets into and out of the creative department.
- Coordinate and execute efficient naming conventions, storage, and organization of the department’s files, Dropbox folders, and DAM system (Bynder) by year, season, category, or product.
- Manage uploads, downloads, sorting, and tagging of assets within the DAM system.
- Lead and support best practices for managing hard drives, image selects, contact sheets, approval and distribution, retouching and video edits, publishing, and archiving.
- Maintain organization of all departmental assets, including 2D and 3D files.
- Ensure accurate metadata and asset usage rights.
- Communicate changes in asset availability, including expirations.
- Attend weekly Creative Priorities meetings in order to monitor current requests and due dates, proactively offering ways to meet deadlines.
- Act as the key reference for locating assets and escalating issues related to asset limitations.
- Collaborate with creative team to support needs
- Prepare files for release on complex projects (e.g., OOH, direct mail).
- Attend pre- and post-production discussions on file delivery and expectations, acting as the direct contact for photographers and digital techs on set.
- Maintain spec sheets that determine deliverables and image specifications for photographers.
- Handle light retouching needs, such as color adjustments, clean-up, extensions, up-resolving, cropping and minor cosmetic adjustments.
- Provide final imagery to third-party vendors, stylists, and art directors for use on social media and professional portfolios.
- Lead software and resource requests for the creative team and freelancers.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (IT/Finance) to strategize and resolve storage and accessibility issues.
- 3-5 years of experience in digital asset management, production design, retouching or a related role
- Strong proficiency in using DAM software to organize, store, and retrieve digital assets
- Expertise in file naming conventions, metadata tagging, and version control
- Ability to train team members on the use of DAM systems and best practices for asset management
- Experience optimizing workflows for the creation, storage, and distribution of digital assets
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), video editing software (Premiere Pro, After Effects), and other relevant design tools including basic design principals
