The Digital Product Manager, with a focus on Owens Corning’s NA Insulation PIM/DAM/PDM/BIM, is skilled in relating capability knowledge to business needs, identifying innovative business solutions. This role is the primary link between Owens Corning Global Information Systems (IT) teams and the business marketing segments responsible for using the digital platforms. Core responsibilities will be identifying business requirements, driving adoption of tools and training/education within each of our business segments.

The Digital Product Manager plays a critical role in ensuring seamless and engaging digital experiences for customers by effectively managing product information, data quality, and completeness. This role combines technical awareness, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize the presentation, accuracy, and accessibility of product data, ultimately enhancing the overall customer experience.

The ideal candidate brings expertise in current and evolving PIM technologies (i.e. STEP by Stibo, Salsify, Adobe, Content Management Systems, Building Information Modelling and Digital Asset Management). This role ideates with business and technical teams to identify appropriate data solutions allowing the business to extract value from investment in PIM platforms.

They collaborate closely with the global business and technology teams to develop a relevant and realistic product roadmap and supports each business as a subject matter expert on developed PIM/DAM/PDM/BIM solutions. This role will build and foster strong working relationships with Global Information Services (IT), functional business teams, third party providers and elevates the PIM/DAM/PDM/BIM product acumen across the NA Insulation business teams.  

Reports to:  Insulation Digital Customer Engagement Leader

Span of Control:  Currently no direct reports. Accountable for indirect leadership of staff augmentation resources responsible for PIM release execution and sustainability. Role will contribute to future resource design/needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Product Leadership

  • Serve as the primary business administrator (including Insulation business user management) of the Product Information Management (PIM) platform (Stibo STEP), collaborating with IT teams to configure, customize, and maintain the system, ensuring alignment with business requirements and improved functionality.
  • Develop relationships with the divisional and business unit subject matter experts and product content specialists
  • Leverage digital product expertise to educate and proactively influence commercial and business decisions that increase value to our sales, product, marketing, and supply chain teams.
  • Drive Stibo STEP implementation discovery, adoption, education and facilitate change management with all business stakeholders to embed capability knowledge within Insulation business segments.
  • Ensure the Product Information Management (PIM) tools work with business units data architecture to govern omnichannel data, quality, and processes.
  • Support on-going initiatives to on-board new products into Stibo STEP software.
  • Support business stakeholders to inform data model for new products, new business rules, and workflows.
  • Support product leaders, PIM syndication CoE, and data stewards to maintain data integrity.
  • Maintain design of business rules, validation rules and workflows within PIM/DAM/PDM/BIM software.
  • Support business teams to define data standards, monitoring of data conformance, standardization of data communication, and provide training and/or support in the efforts to create and/or cleanse data.
Innovate and Think Strategically

  • Partner with Global Information Services (GIS), business and commercial leadership to formulate and maintain PIM/DAM/PDM/BIM product roadmap of current and future features and functionalities by leveraging established product governance structure.
  • Proactively engage with technology vendors to understand their product roadmap and future upgrade and release plans related to PIM/DAM/PDM/BIM.
  • Work closely with various teams, including marketing, sales, customer support, and GIS, to align customer lifecycle strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Sequences and prioritizes business requirements and capability adoption.
Product Life-Cycle Management

  • Covers all steps from inception of PIM/DAM/PDM/BIM product to its end of life including product strategy, feature conceptualization, marketing, release adoption and training, sustainability, evolution, and retirement.
  • Collaborate with IT project/product owners and technology architects to plan PIM/DAM/PDM/BIM product releases, develop release project plan, manage release execution resources, coordinate workflow between cross function teams, end-user training, release rollout, and production support.
  • Own and leverage OC core execution methodology to gather requirements, design user experience, and develop implementation and product marketing plans.
  • Ensure functional and user experience tradeoffs are clear with business and technical teams.
  • Develop training materials and conduct training sessions to educate internal stakeholders on PIM tools, processes, and best practices for effective product information management. Maintain comprehensive documentation and knowledge base for easy reference and onboarding of new team members.
Collaborate and Foster Teamwork

  • Inspire and cultivate talent within Market Facing Digital, marketing, commercial, and business organizations to promote an engaging work environment.
  • Collaborate cross functionally within a matrix organization between IT, business, and digital teams.
  • Increase the level of PIM product awareness and value across the company.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience with MDM, PIM, DAM, BIM or relevant software like Stibo STEP, Riversand, Informatica, Oracle Product Hub, etc.
  • 5+ years working directly with cross-functional business teams (commercial, business, IT) in a role understanding and translating business needs into technical implementation requirements
  • Demonstrated expertise in understanding workflows and business process, identifying issues, and providing solutions that leverage PIM/DAM/PDM/BIM relevant technologies
EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with data architecture, data modeling, system configuration, or software implementations preferred
  • Has led or participated in the development of digital product releases
  • At least one full-cycle implementation of Stibo Systems STEP MDM (or similar) in a leadership or consulting role
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage medium to large scale, cross-functional projects involving global processes, cross-functional teams, and third-party vendors
  • Utilization of analytics to gain insights into effectiveness of digital product(s)
  • Experience in generating requirements and/or use cases to successfully communicate business needs
  • Effective and proactive communicator with stakeholders at all levels; successfully sets and manages expectations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Understands nuances of products, digital assets, content, and relevant business processes
  • Has outstanding skills in understanding capacity and demand balance; is skillful at aligning expectations
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including technical and non-technical teams as well as third parties
  • Strong analytical thinking and solutions design
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility as priorities change in an environment of competing demands
