As the Digital Librarian you will handle the tactical and administrative work needed to optimize the quality, coordination, and timeliness of digital asset management within Gallo’s DAM system.  You will support the implementation of systems and processes to improve the user experience.

What You Will Do:

  • Develops, maintains and updates asset taxonomy and metadata. Creates and improves guidelines for file naming, adding metadata including licensing and usage rights.
  • Manages asset ingestion and storage from external agencies. Assigns appropriate keywords, categories, and other identifying tags to improve asset accessibility.
  • Monitors and audits assets to adhere to established governance standards. Ensures process standards are being followed for managing asset collections.
  • Develops and maintains Digital Asset Management (DAM) user access. Adds and removes users from the systems, sets appropriate rights and permissions for all users, and sets system policies regarding usage rights.
  • Runs established KPI reports from an existing dashboard to provide analysis on trends and asset usage patterns. May provide assistance with development of new reporting dashboards.
  • Develops new reports and methods of collecting data in partnership with the Sr. Content Specialist.
  • Focuses on helping maintain the daily flow of content between teams.
  • Partners with Sales and Marketing to maintain accurate and current asset collections. Partners with Creative to devise processes and procedures for ingesting digital assets into the DAM and library systems.
  • Assists with training and serves as the key point of contact for DAM users.
  • Works closely with Gallo’s IT department to ensure library systems work within Gallo’s established technology guidelines.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 1 year of experience in digital asset management, Creative studio, advertising agency, corporate communications or sales/marketing system support; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of experience in digital asset management, Creative studio, advertising agency or corporate communications.
  • Experience working with and maintaining systems.
  • Experience with measuring and reporting against KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators)
  • Excellent organizational and verbal / written communication skills.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Master’s Degree in Library Science plus 1 year of Digital Asset Management or Digital Media Management experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in Library Science plus 3 years of experience in digital asset management, Creative studio, advertising agency, corporate communications, or sales/marketing system support experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School Diploma plus 7 years of experience in Digital Asset Management or Digital Media Management reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience with cross functional department collaboration.
  • Experience with developing business processes.
  • Has a thorough understanding and knowledge of various creative digital formats such as Adobe Photoshop, TIFF, JPEG, PNG, etc.
  • Basic understanding of color theory including the differences between RGB and CMYK, color profiles, file compression, and metadata.
  • Basic understanding of Adobe software such Photoshop, Bridge, Illustrator, and InDesign.
