What's the Short Version?

The Digital Asset Manager designs, executes and manages existing and new infrastructure for assets at an enterprise level. They oversee the flow and storage of high volumes of images, owning file handling, tagging, and date expiration for print and digital assets. The Digital Asset Manager ensures assets are well-organized and resources are in place to meet targets, coordinating directly with our internal studio operations team, digital product team, production managers and various other cross-functional teams. They guide the digital asset life-cycle from creation to asset delivery through to archiving.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Administer the day-to-day operations and ongoing ingestion, organization and maintenance of two DAM systems (one is for customer-facing and cross-functional teams and one is for internal studio/creative use only).
  • Determine, administer and oversee the full lifecycle, naming convention standards, archiving and distribution of all digital assets including images, video and brand assets and capture uniform processes in SOP’s for documentation.
  • Determine, administer and oversee metadata schemas and taxonomies, ensuring quality control is maintained.
  • Develop automated workflows and maintain those workflows.
  • Manage usage rights, ensuring assets are only available to appropriate user groups and own the communication to PM’s & creative partners to notify of expiring assets in advance.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to build and improve upon systems and infrastructures that address internal and external digital asset needs.
  • Partner with Digital Product team to handle internal user account creation, permissions and onboarding and perform routine user audits as well as ensuring tags meet necessary requirements for our design studio integration.
  • Partner with the Supervisor, Imaging to manage the flow of image/video assets through all stages of the studio workflow.
  • Collaborate as needed with outside Digitechs and outside clipping vendor, providing necessary feedback.
  • Advise teams on data transfer and data management practices and stay up to date in technological trends that can yield workflow and efficiency improvements.
  • Manage critical and time-sensitive post-production requests for internal and external teams.
  • Proactively optimize storage space, system stability, backups, automation workflows, upgrades, troubleshooting and infrastructure planning.
  • Anticipate and effectively mitigate problems, and consistently communicate to stakeholders/managers about updates on progress, relevant delays or issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.
What Are We Looking For?

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years as a digital asset manager or similar for a commercial corporate team
  • Professional experience in a high volume, high production environment
  • Proficiency in or willingness to learn script writing – Apple Scripts and PC Scripts
  • Extreme organizational skills and high acumen for attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Project Management software
  • Understanding of image/video specs and file formats
  • Working knowledge of photography/video methods, file preparation and retouching within the Mac OSX and PC environments a plus
  • Ability to influence and build successful working relationships with a diverse set of partners
  • Experience educating non-technical stakeholders and leading process improvements and/or operations tool implementations
  • Proven ability to make and implement decisions
  • Excellent writing, verbal communication and interpersonal communication skills
  • Employee must be able to handle strenuous deadlines and be flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels
