Job Purpose
The Digital Asset Management (DAM) Librarian is responsible for directing and leading the management of marketing assets during initial migration and ensuring assets are aligned to industry standards, including continuous evaluation and iteration of file directories and metadata. The DAM Librarian creates and implements strategies and processes for naming conventions, taxonomy structures, metadata tagging, and formatting to ensure the accuracy and longevity of digital assets.

The Digital Asset Management (DAM) Librarian is responsible for directing and leading the management of marketing assets during initial migration and ensuring assets are aligned to industry standards, including continuous evaluation and iteration of file directories and metadata. The DAM Librarian creates and implements strategies and processes for naming conventions, taxonomy structures, metadata tagging, and formatting to ensure the accuracy and longevity of digital assets.
Essential Responsibilities
- Create and manage the strategy, practices, and methodologies for the management of all marketing materials from digital to print.
- Structure and manage the day-to-day operations of DAM: permissions, metadata, user-inquiries, and overall asset life-cycle management for Seismic, Aprimo, and other marketing technologies.
- Design a single repository for marketing materials, enabling knowledge channels and digital assets to be shared across the organization and improving content accessibility and discovery for marketers.
- Oversee and approve intake of assets for quality control, ensuring content meets brand and technical standards.
- Develop, direct, and maintain the schemas and dictionaries within the DAM system, establishing process/user management standards and providing oversight and governance.
- Assign appropriate metadata to and catalog assets to ensure accurate usage rights and ease of search.
- Design and administer initial and ongoing training to ensure the understanding and adoption of digital asset management practices and technologies.
- Open technology tickets as needed and follow any issues through to resolution with JET and/or vendors for marketing technology stack solutions.
- Lead the development and implementation of metadata standards and continual best practices to support easy tagging and search within the DAM.
- Implement agreed taxonomy structure and classification system, always ensuring best UX experience and user-adoption.
- Act as DAM ambassador to increase adoption and best practices through ongoing education, training, and support.
- Develop and maintain ongoing documentation, user workflows, and policies and permissions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated familiarity with taxonomy and metadata standards.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Intermediate MS Office Suite experience.
- Adobe Asset Manager experience a plus.
- Experience in Marketing, Digital Marketing or Marketing Communications related field.
- Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science or commensurate experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Digital Asset Management role or similar role required.
