Canadian Tire Corporation has recently created an internal creative agency to support its companies and brands to increase its speed-to-market, ensure brand and customer experience consistencies, and be more efficient. This agency has also undertaken the implementation of a new digital asset management system to replace legacy systems.
As part of the business and content management team of the agency, the DAM Analyst will provide support for the intake and organization of digital assets produced and received from external vendors and product suppliers for Canadian Tire, Mark’s, SportChek and other brands and banners. We're looking for someone who is extremely detail-oriented, process-driven, that is able to work a complex matrix organization with a large number of stakeholders.
What you will do
- Intake of new digital assets (photos, videos, project files, etc.) for all internal and external partners, including application of metadata according to established governance policies and corporate schema, into both emergent and legacy systems as required.
- Clean-up and creation of metadata for existing digital assets according to corporate metadata schema.
- Assist with asset migration process: cleaning and mapping metadata to assets prior to ingestion and quality control checks after migration; de-duplication of assets.
- Assist in Quality Control maintenance of various Canadian Tire & banner websites. Troubleshoot and fix image and image ordering issues. Working with category business leads to ensure support for everyone brand and category.
- Assist with workflow testing: identify workflow improvement opportunities, provide feedback, and quality control checks.
- Conduct regular asset audits to ensure assets are appropriately catalogued and tagged.
- Assist a wide range of users with: bulk uploads, metadata edits, new user and account change requests, troubleshooting, system usage, search help.
- Assist in the development of DAM training documentation and reports for issues.
What you bring
- University degree and/or more experience in the field is required.
- 2+ years of experience working in a digital asset management or similar role.
- Strong understanding of various digital media platforms and associated file types. Including and not limited to (Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, YouTube Publishing)
- Experience in digitizing of assets and conversion of assets to support various media platforms.
- Experience with the pipeline and change management of substantial data/digital asset migrations.
- Strong proficiencies in metadata application and management.
- Strong understanding of taxonomy development and governance.
- Familiarity with rights management and legal compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong ability to work individually as well as in a team setting.
- Great written and oral communication skills in English. Bilingual (French) is a strong asset.
- Highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented with good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
