The internal creative production team at Cars.com is seeking a part-time, contract Digital Asset Librarian / Media Manager to join our team for several months to assist with ongoing post-production workflow, archive reorganization, and potentially video logging/transcoding. This role can apply to either those with degrees in library science or individuals in the early- to mid-stages of a visual production career, either in photography, video, TV, filmmaking, or motion graphics. The right candidate is someone who thrives on the mantra of “a place for everything and everything in its place” and is able to respond appropriately to requests of varied timelines. Working on our small team of creatives, the role is a critical element of the post-production workflow of original content within a brand.

- Work across teams to shepherd digital image and video assets through the content and archiving pipeline, leading the workflow from the uploading and tagging of assets to the sourcing and distribution of assets to teams for publishing, as needed on a daily basis
- Act as a DAM SME to ensure metadata is entered accurately and assets are made available to the right parties in a timely manner
- Apply metadata to assets using our internal CV and SEO best practices
- Uploading assets to DAM, maintaining the metadata structure of searchable content
- Consult on, and execute reorganization of archive files on NAS
- Assist with in-progress migration of assets to new DAM platform
- Assist with in-progress implementation of new DAM workflow within our CMS (WordPress)
- Oversee and guide user adherence to the established tagging, taxonomy, folder structure, processes, and governance for the new DAM
- Additional tasks as assigned
- Footage logging
- Creation of video proxy files
- Document workflow and guidelines for use of new DAM
- Experience with Digital Asset Management is a must. Candidates will need working knowledge of methods and best practices in cataloging, archiving, data organization, and searchability
- Experience or familiarity with Cloudinary, AEM, Widen, or similar DAM or digital archiving system strongly preferred
- Novice-level Photoshop/Lightroom (image sizing, cropping, general rules of image resolution) is required
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills
- Able to manage own workload and work autonomously
- Capable of juggling multiple projects concurrently
- Working knowledge of GSuite
- Working knowledge of Mac platform
- Strong high-speed internet connection (we are fully remote)
- Experience with photo/video/film/design assets and production
- Experience or familiarity with current car/truck models
