Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Broad knowledge of digital repository functions, services, and requirements
  • Demonstrated experience with taxonomy creation, metadata and cataloging, converting, migrating, and bulk uploading of digital assets, implementation and maintenance of digital rights management strategy for assets in DAM.
  • A general understanding of network operating systems, experience with user support and services, collection management systems, and web technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and an ability to interact well with both technical and non-technical colleagues, system vendors and general users
  • Superb written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required
  • Effective at meeting deadlines, adjusting priorities, and working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with a wide range of digital file formats, digitization, and digital reformatting practices
  • Working knowledge of digital image capture
Position Summary

Under Armour is currently seeking a Digital Asset Librarian to activate and expand access to our treasury of archival images, videos and catalogs produced over Under Armour’s 25-year history. Working under the Creative Director, Corporate Communications, this position will be responsible for building out an archival partition on Under Armour’s existing Digital Asset Management (DAM) system. The Digital Asset Librarian will integrate and manage this side of the DAM, and all workflows associated with it from metadata standards, system maintenance, training and outreach initiatives, to supporting internal awareness, understanding, and usage of UA’s digital archive assets.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: working with both individuals and departments to research, recommend, implement, develop and sustain the digital archives. The Digital Asset Librarian will collaborate with key stakeholders to codify and implement digital media asset metadata standards and workflows.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Retrieving/archiving assets from/to servers and hard drives
  • Digitizing physical materials
  • Establishing and managing file naming procedures
  • Ingesting assets into the DAM
  • Staging/migrating files to various servers
  • Creating folder structures on the DAM
  • Setting file retention policies based on stakeholder workflows
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to define metadata requirements, and maintaining the completeness and accuracy of image metadata needed for efficient image retrieval
  • Metadata entering and updating
  • Responding to email requests
  • Operation of various asset and workflow management tools
  • Staying on top of industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Undertaking additional departmental duties as required
  • Developing and implementing short-term and long-term strategic goals for the DAM metadata acquisition process
Education And / Or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in library science or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in a Digital Asset Management (DAM) environment.
  • AEM Experience a plus.
