Kasian is an international, award-winning design firm known for our collaborative approach and exceptional people. We are seeking a talented Digital Asset Librarian to support business development pursuits and marketing initiatives that reflect our Firm’s reputation for inspired thinking. You will join a national Digital Practice Team and work closely with our Marketing Team, Principals and Senior Leadership across our industry sectors (Public | Transportation | Healthcare | Education | Workplace | Senior Living | Industrial | Commercial | Education, Recreation, Culture | DND-DCC | Energy). Your primary role on our team will be to manage and organize our digital assets, ensuring that files such as images, documents, and videos are properly stored, categorized, and easily accessible. You will oversee the use of our Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform, Kontainer, to maintain an efficient system for retrieving and sharing files across teams. This role involves managing metadata, ensuring version control, supporting collaboration, and maintaining security standards, all while optimizing workflows to streamline the management of digital content.

While being in or near one of our 7 major city center locations is an asset, it is not a requirement to become a part of our team. Kasian’s approach to a hybrid work environment allows applicants to join our proposal team from across the country, supporting our endeavours to connect and collaborate over multiple time zones by giving the flexibility of working from home. This fosters the spirit of inclusion and opens the opportunity for diverse perspectives to impact and shape our delivery model and grow the culture of our company.

How YOU will grow with us:

  • Digital Asset Management (DAM): Working closely with the Digital Practice Manager and Marketing and Business Development Manager, oversee the organization, categorization, and tagging of all digital assets (images, renderings, documents, videos, etc.) across projects to ensure easy retrieval and consistent use.
  • Platform Administration: Engage and optimize our Digital Asset Management system, Kontainer, to ensure efficient file storage, searchability, and collaboration.
  • Metadata and Version Control: Ensure that all assets are properly tagged with relevant metadata and manage versioning to track revisions and updates to files.
  • Archiving & Storage Management: Supervise long-term storage of important digital assets, ensuring files are properly backed up, secure, and easily accessible.
  • Access Control & Permissions: Define and manage access permissions for users across teams, ensuring the right people have access to the right resources while maintaining security standards.
  • Quality Control: Enforce standards for file formats, naming conventions, and asset quality to maintain consistency across projects and deliverables. Create a manual that standardizes digital asset management nationally.
  • Collaboration Support: Work closely with design, marketing, and project management teams to support the sharing and collaboration of digital assets, facilitating smooth communication and workflow.
  • Reporting & Tracking: Monitor the usage of assets, provide insights on asset performance, and help optimize workflows to increase efficiency.
  • Training & Support: Provide training and support to team members on how to effectively use the digital asset management systems.
  • Industry Trends: Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in digital asset management to continually improve the firm’s systems.
YOUR unique qualities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in library science, Information Management, Architecture, or experience in a related field.
  • Experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems (preferably Kontainer).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage large volumes of digital content and ensure it is easily accessible and secure.
  • Knowledge of metadata standards, file formats, and asset quality control in a digital environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across different teams.
  • Familiarity with architecture-related workflows and terminology is a plus.
