As the Digital Asset and System (DAM) Manager you will be responsible for the continued maintenance and governance of the Arc’teryx DAM system and strategy. The DAM System Manager will lead DAM governance initiatives, drive DAM strategy development, manage training, communication, and change management, and oversee the system, workflow, and metadata roadmap, driving improvements to meet evolving business needs. This role will work closely with stakeholders across Arc’teryx, vendors, and agencies, and implementation partners.
This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is expected to be performed on-location.

If you were a Digital Asset and System Manager now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing
- Project managing changes to metadata and taxonomy, asset scope, workflow, system functionality, etc.
- Driving DAM metadata and taxonomy strategies and approach, with strong consideration to asset retrieval needs and alignment with Arc’teryx business needs
- Developing and overseeing DAM procedures workflows, to ensure useful, relevant workflows across the system that meet business needs, across the asset lifecycle (ingest to archive)
- Interfacing and aligning with enterprise data initiatives and assisting with vendor selection and management
- Testing metadata changes, system enhancements, and new workflows, and coordinating end-user testing of changes and enhancements
- Acting as the primary participant, facilitator, and driver of cross-functional DAM and metadata governance council operations, to ensure continued agreement on the metadata schema, taxonomy, and controlled vocabularies, and the prioritization of workflow and system changes and improvements
- Developing and managing asset and metadata standards, DAM policy, and governance documentation
- Coordinating, tracking, and escalating user feedback on metadata and DAM system requirements to feed into the formal DAM change and improvement governance workflow
- Supporting Creative Services super users in asset curation and metadata tagging
- Overseeing framework, content, and execution of user training activities
- Overseeing and supporting the communication and socialization of DAM system capabilities, best practices and change control processes regarding the system, content import, and metadata application
- Overseeing and auditing adherence to prescribed DAM procedures, metadata standards, and workflows across the digital asset lifecycle (from ingest to archive)
- Conducting system and DAM program reporting
- You have a bachelor's degree or post-secondary education in Library Science (MLIS) or a related field or a commensurate level of experience
- You have 5+ years of experience managing a large Digital Asset Management (DAM) or Media Asset Management (MAM) system, with strong technical understanding
- You have solid knowledge of metadata and taxonomy application and best practices for system navigation and content search and retrieval
- You have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, influencers and technical team members
- You have excellent time management and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability prioritizing a large volume of work effectively and efficiently with tight deadlines
- You have strong change management experience
- You have experience delivering technical training and support
- You are knowledgeable on scaling DAM systems, workflow improvement and user adoption strategies
- You set a clear vision, align your team around common objectives, and foster commitment to these objectives
