Your role at Sephora:

As a Data Architect in Marketing Technology, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing scalable data infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with business partners, product engineering teams, and other stakeholders to extract and organize data for marketing use. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, MarTech Platform, you will bridge the gap between technical and business language, ensuring thorough and structured solution and project planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Solution Design: Develop comprehensive conceptual, logical, and physical data models for multiple domains, leveraging industry best practices and standards.  
  • Data Integration: Manage and define processes for external and internal data integrations, ensuring efficient and performant APIs, data models, connectors, and microservices
  • Data Quality: Improve data quality and validation layers to enhance BI solutions and provide rich data insights.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, software engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless implementation and delivery of data solutions
  • Marketing Platforms: Lead data design and architecture discussions with Google Marketing Platform and other major ad platforms (e.g., Facebook, Bing, Instagram, TikTok).
  • Innovation: Stay updated with industry best practices in digital marketing, compliance, and new technologies (e.g., IDFA, AAID, GDPR, CCPA).
We’re excited about you if you have:

  • 8+ years' experience in designing and building data products in E-commerce or retail space designing end-to-end architecture and solutions using multi-cloud platforms (GCP, Azure). Experience working with marketing partners in retail space is importance for success in this role.
  • 6+ years' experience interacting effectively with business partners including leadership and manager levels as well as with technical teams in building support through discussion and compromise.
  • 8+ years' experience with the following technical skills:  Expertise in data lake and data warehouse architectures, ETL/ELT processes, and reporting/analytic tools. Proficiency with Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, and other GCP tools.
  • Content and Data Design: Expertise in OCID, dynamic content storage, and architecture solutions like experience fragments and content fragments.
  • CDN/DAM/CMS Integrations: Proficiency in integrating content delivery networks, digital asset management, and content management systems with data-driven marketing personalizations using ML/AI.
  • Multi-Cloud Solutions: Experience delivering CX.AI at scale using multi-cloud and hybrid cloud solutions (AWS, Google, Azure).
  • Open-Source Technologies: Experience with Kafka, Cassandra, MongoDB, Nginx, Redis, and ElasticSearch.
  • Microsoft Azure: Designing, deploying, and administering scalable, available, and fault-tolerant systems on Microsoft Azure AKS.
  • Modern Web Technologies: Building multi-tier, high-availability applications with NoSQL, MongoDB, SparkML, and TensorFlow..
  • Proven ability to lead teams, mentor engineers, and drive project success.
  • Experience working in agile teams and environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to quickly develop solutions for complex issues.
