The Canadian Red Cross Society, a not for profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world, is currently seeking a 13 month contract Coordinator, Digital Assets.
Within the Prevention & Safety Dept. and under the direction of the Content Production Manager, the Coordinator, Digital Assets is responsible for developing and maintaining our team archives (of digital assets, PDFs, manuscripts, etc.) and ensuring that they are kept current, organized, and accurate. The DAC sources media and responds to requests for assets from both inside and outside the team.

As a Coordinator, Digital Assets you will:
Develop and maintain team archives
Ensure that files used by the P&I Team are readily accessible, tagged correctly, and clearly identified in the file storage system (current Sharepoint):
Communicate with writing and design teams to stay informed of issues related to document versions, maintenance of existing products, etc.
Work with team to identify the structure of a program and plan how files should be organized for that program
Ensure that all new media files (images and video) are uploaded to the DAM and that the meta-data for each is correct and up to date
Identify and track the legal status of all files in the archive to identify any risks related to copyright, model releases, etc.
Work on uploading and tagging legacy media files to DAM
Consult on changes to existing file systems and make recommendations on what those changes should be and how they should be implemented
Provide training and troubleshooting for users of the archives
Source media for projects
Work with the content production team and the SME to identify media needs (images, video) for projects
Make recommendations on alternatives if requested media are not available
Collect, organize, and deliver media files to content production team or external teams as requested
We're looking for:
The minimum qualifications for this job are education in technology or a related field (minimum 2-year college program) and 2-3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of the two.
Experience working with online tools is an asset.
Ability to creatively synthesize needs of various groups of stakeholders.
Ability to work with tight timelines on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively juggle different demands.
Demonstrated knowledge of digital media and traditional learning and social platforms.
Ability to build positive relationships with others and take direction.
Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, resourceful, and results driven.
Dynamic, team-oriented, flexible "can-do" approach;
Virtual team experience and training (if working away from a Red Cross office) in the following areas:
Self-management;
Ability to work independently without face-to-face contact;
Work autonomously;
Self-organization;
Ability to be proactive and seek out relevant information, take initiative to contact others;
Ablility to work without direct supervision and meet project time lines;
Effective time management;
Comfort and skill with various technologies such as e-mail, teleconferencing, MS Office, SharePoint, directories, and file sharing systems
Openness to learning new technologies and using technologies to their full potential;
Excellent computer skills and proficiency using Office Suite.
Experience working in graphic design is asset.
Knowledge of Red Cross Programs and certification as a Red Cross Instructor or Instructor Trainer is an asset.
Understanding of emerging technologies is an asset.
Your Working Conditions:
Occasional requirement to work overtime hours, often with short notice based on project deadlines.
Domestic travel may be required.
