About the role
The Royal Academy of Dance is one of the world’s most influential dance education and training organisations. With its global headquarters in London, our work takes us into diverse communities, locally and around the world to widen access to dance and to share the benefits and wellbeing that it brings. The Wolfson Library and RAD Archive houses an extensive collection of ballet and dance related materials.
As part of the small Library and Archive team, reporting to the Library and Archive Manager, you will contribute to delivering high-quality library services to all students, academics, staff and members of the RAD community, as well as external researchers. Responsibilities include staffing the Welcome Desk, providing cataloguing, classification and metadata services for the library collections, organising serials and subscriptions, and ensuring consistent, reliable and effective access to electronic resources, giving you the opportunity to work independently, proactively and use initiative.

We are looking for someone who:
- Has demonstrable experience in cataloguing and classifying in a library
- Has practical knowledge of research methods and information literacy skills
- Has an appropriate Library qualification or equivalent practical experience
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and proficient IT skills
- Has excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to effectively understand user needs and enquiries
