Canadian Tire Corporation is investing heavily on content technology programs to help all the brands and companies manage its content more effectively across channels. Part of our Enterprise Content Management and Creative Group (internal agency to CTC), the Product Manager, Content Management Platforms & Creative Capabilities is responsible implementing and improving the various Content Management products to support content marketing programs, content personalization enablement, and associated enterprise-wide change management. With a wide range of long-term products and projects, this role will be the Product Owner or supporting the Product Owner on various initiatives. This role will be crucial for helping optimize the delivery of omni-channel content marketing programs for CTC brands across eCommerce, digital marketing, strategic marketing, brand marketing, print marketing, and in-store marketing with a ‘create once, publish everywhere’ philosophy.  

This role will be at the forefront of a new team and help with the transformation of moving towards a centralized content and creative team for Canadian Tire Corp.

The Product Manager, Content Management Platforms & Creative Capabilities position is categorized as a Roamer, which means that the incumbent can successfully complete their role objectives virtually and are not required to be present on a CTC campus unless they choose to do so.  

What you’ll do

  • Support the Product Owner of the Enterprise Content Management Products which could include our Enterprise DAM (Digital Asset Management Platform), Brand Design System, Product Copy Centralization Program, and other content management technology and capability initiatives.
  • Define and write the requirements for the product(s) roadmap(s) and work with the technology teams and technology providers in an Agile workflow.
  • Owning or supporting the end-to-end product delivery process, including concepting and strategy, design, development, QA, and post-launch growth
  • Managing and organizing roadmaps and estimates for each project, assessing projects from a creative, business, and technological viewpoint throughout the design and development phase.
  • Constantly finding solutions to complex problems around managing creative, content, and assets across a matrix organization and different companies.
  • Be at the frontline of support for any operational issues that arise with a product.
  • Be the point of contact for a portfolio of clients and products/programs and ensure quality of service is to standards.
  • Establish and maintain project schedules, plan resources, provide stakeholders project status updates, and keep project on time, on budget, and of high quality.
  • Presenting concepts, deliverables, and designs to clients and cross-functional teams.
  • Continuously challenge the status-quo in the way we do things and find ways to be more efficient as a team and organization.
  • Identify opportunities and implement ‘always-on’ content opportunities across Canadian Tire or for select banners or brands.
  • Perform ongoing market research to identify new content technology opportunities and work with our channel owners to test and learn new opportunities.
Note: Although this role will work closely with our IT and Digital Technology group, this is a business role versus an IT role.

What you bring

  • 6+ years of experience working in product management, technology management on the business side, ideally in a content management, digital or similar environment.
  • University education in business/commerce, technology, or a related field is required.
  • Has been closely involved in the launch of a new product or technology transformation from start to finish.
  • Experience working with Digital Asset Management (DAM) Platforms is required
  • Experience working with Brand Guidelines and Templating Platforms is an asset
  • Strong experience rolling out technology programs impacting cross-functional teams
  • Strong experience in change management planning and execution
  • Experience creating documentation and conducting training for end-users of technology products.
  • Strong understanding of the creative and production process and how technology can help improve workflows.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and writing skills are required.
  • Fluency in working with technology and digital media to support various content delivery channels
  • Ability to earn trust across different levels and multiple groups of a large organization
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary – a general manager / owner mentality and an entrepreneurial drive
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience owning roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience owning feature delivery and being able to make trade-offs of a product
  • Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to think strategically and act tactically
  • A genuine ability to learn quickly and explore unfamiliar challenges.
  • A genuine love for the web, marketing, and content is a must.
  • Bilingual candidates are an asset (English and French).
