ResourceSpace OpenAI integration now includes image editing
DAM software provider ResourceSpace have just announced that their OpenAI integration has been extended to support image editing. The new plugin is powered by DALL·E 2, one of the first openly available Generative AI tools, and is primarily used to remove unwanted objects and individuals from images. The feature will be fully rolled out with the upcoming 10.5 release, but a beta version is available now and is included automatically for users signing up to their free 10GB package.

Digital Asset Management vendor Fotoware‘s CEO Anne Gretland marks the company’s 30th anniversary with an interview with co-founder Ole Christian Frenning. The article provides a series of highlights and insights from the last three decades of his journey and mission to simplify complex image processing workflows. From its lowly beginnings in the newspaper industry and their first product, an automated colour conversion utility named ‘Collector’, Ole maps the milestones and key decisions (including turning down an offer from Sony) that brought Fotoware to where it is today.

Tracy Forzaglia, aka the Mod Librarian, has recently shared some thoughts on her recent attendance at the Henry Stewart Semantic Data 2024 conference in New York. Tracy’s highlights include keynotes from Lulit Tesfaye on the Semantic Layer, content integration using an LLM-based autoclassifier from Polly Alexander, Ashley Marty‘s keynote on Securing Taxonomy and Ontology Strategy Buy-In, Heather Hedden on connecting and extending taxonomies and ontologies, Bonnie Griffith on using Copilot and GenAI to develop taxonomies, and multi-purpose taxonomies from Nike’s principal taxonomist, Ahren Lehnert.
Author and taxonomist Heather Hedden also attended the Semantic Data conference, and her latest blog post provides a brief review of the topics on offer, along with an overview of her presentation. Heather will also be speaking at the upcoming Connected Data London 2024 event, taking place from 11th to 13th December, where she will be presenting Taxonomy Design Best Practice for Knowledge Graphs.

Although primarily concerned with their own platform, the advice, which includes some useful tips on workflow and marketing integration, can be applied to any DAM system.
