Image Bank vs DAM: What’s the difference?

Digital Asset Management software provider FotoWare highlight the difference between dedicated image banks and DAM platforms. Key differences include the scope of assets, including extended file type support, that are supported by DAMs, enhanced search capabilities, advanced metadata management beyond simple tags and descriptions and collaboration functions such as user permissions and approvals.  Further differences that distinguish DAM include workflow automation and consent management, rights management, scalability, and the ability to integrate with third-party connectors and platforms.
