Getty Images and Shutterstock to Merge

Content library giants Getty Images and Shutterstock have recently announced that they have entered into a merger, creating a combined business value of approximately $3.7 billion.  The new enterprise is to be snappily named ‘Getty Images Holdings’ and will continue to trade under the NYSE ticker ‘GETY’.  The press release, published on January 7th, focuses heavily on investment potential and financial opportunities for Getty stockholders, which will make up around 55 percent of the combined company.

The state of Digital Asset Management in 2024
