Adobe To Acquire Day Software: Potential Implications For The DAM Sector?
Adobe have announced today that they intend to acquire Swiss content management software vendor, Day Software for US$240m (subject to shareholder approval):
“Adobe’s acquisition of Day will strengthen the company’s enterprise software solutions with market leading Web Content Management (WCM), Digital Asset Management and Social Collaboration offerings. Day have a number of enterprise clients including BMW, McDonald’s and General Motors and also have a Digital Asset Management solution. As well as Day, Adobe also acquired DAM vendor Scene 7 several years ago. What remains to be seen is if Adobe plan to fully integrate Day (and Scene 7) into their operations and what the implications will be for the wider enterprise DAM and ECM sector.
