My interest in digital asset management is derived from my years working as an art director in NYC, directing shoot after shoot after shoot, always trying to keep art organized as I moved it through multiple production processes.
The first "DAM" system I worked with was a grey four-drawer file cabinet that held all the agency's client's logos and brand artwork. Later, as a creative director with eight teams, I was there when we moved all our company images out of the color separation house onto our servers and had to deal with fundamental questions like file name, folder structure, server space, and backups — the precursor to modern digital asset management.
Since those days, I've implemented and repaired many systems and developed multiple taxonomies, governance structures, and digital asset operations teams. I have deep expertise in creative operations and asset creation.
