Call for Contributions: DAM Integration

This month’s editorial theme is DAM Integration.  As our digital landscape becomes more and more interconnected via APIs, composable architectures and third-party integrations, DAM is ideally positioned – perhaps more so than ever – to fulfil its role as a centralised hub through which all content passes.  The last few years have witnessed a growing interest in the concept of a Digital Asset Supply Chain, where DAM acts as the primary switchboard for an increasingly diverse number of upstream and downstream channels.

With the emergence and widespread adoption of artificial intelligence within content, data and digital marketing workflows, the DAM sector is currently experiencing a knock-on resurgence in innovation, with numerous vendors offering out-of-the-box integrations for a wide range of third-party applications.  Indeed, the savvy DAM shopper now expects their chosen DAM platform to be fully flexible in terms of its ability to interact with both in-house technology stacks and external systems, software and services, from PIM (product information management) and e-commerce plugins through to marketing, customer engagement and social media channels.

To investigate the latest techniques, trends and technologies surrounding DAM integration, we are asking our community of readers, subscribers, vendors and experts to share their own experiences, insights and knowledge on the topic.  Are there any particular challenges that your organisation has experienced in pursuit of a more connected DAM architecture?  Have you witnessed an improvement in creative, marketing or business operations as a result of a recent integration?  Has your DAM vendor been helpful and responsive regarding a niche or custom integration?  What are the key considerations when preparing to implement a new integration?
