A collection of recent DAM-related articles from around the web, sourced from DAM Federation member, Planet DAM.

Another DAM Podcast Joins DAM Federation

Another DAM Podcast has recently joined The DAM Federation and is a series of interviews hosted by DAM consultant Henrik de Gyor that invites DAM professionals from across the industry to discuss the challenges, issues and successes they’ve experienced in the field.  Both audio files and written transcripts are available from the archive, which now contains over 200 episodes.

DAM Vendor Selection Seminar, London DAM Meetup Group, Tuesday 26th February, King’s College London

The complex subject of DAM vendor selection is to be explored at an upcoming seminar later this month.  The free event, delivered by my co-contributor Ralph Windsor and hosted by The London DAM Meetup group, is to be held at King’s College London (KCL).  Key subjects covered will include: building a business case for a DAM solution; who should be in your selection team; collecting requirements; and how to carry out effective demos and evaluations.  Spaces are limited to 30 places.

Tagging and Empathy – An Exploration

I have recently reviewed the presentation material from Rebecca Schneider’s recent appearance at the IEN DAM Practitioner’s Summit.  Rebecca has kindly given us permission to offer the content as a free download from our DAM Whitepapers repository.  The thought-provoking presentation focuses on the use and abuse of empathy within marketing, and examines how it might be integrated into the tagging workflow to provide more experiential relevance to asset metadata and ‘emotional content’.

Aprimo and Episerver form Strategic Partnership to Create Industry’s first “Ideation to Experience” Solution

DAM solutions provider Aprimo have recently announced a strategic partnership with Episerver, a ‘digital experience transformation’ business.  The integration between Aprimo’s DAM platform and Episerver’s marketing and merchandising solutions should enable users to “simplify the process of creating and publishing marketing and eCommerce into a personalized customer experience”.  Lofty claims aside, some might argue that a cocktail attempting to mix such varied workflows as content, creative, marketing and ecommerce may curdle and not be as tasty as it sounds.

Preparing to Launch – Jane Leuchter

DAM vendor Widen have recently made a podcast available that follows the Institute for Functional Medicine’s content librarian Jane Leuchter in her task to select and implement a DAM solution to organise over 25 years of recordings, audio files and documents.  The podcast includes topics such as selection and configuration, stakeholder engagement, launching pilot schemes, tips to encourage user adoption, and various insights for those embarking on a similar journey.
