Kew Gardens Blooms With Oracle Upgrade
To coincide with it’s 250th anniversary, Kew Gardens has made a multi-million pound investment into its IT infrastructure with Oracle technologies, Anh Nguyen at Computerworld reported yesterday. The project will overhaul the organisation’s digital asset management and web content management, in addition to HR and financial systems.
“The next stages of the Oracle contract involve overhauling RBG Kew’s digital asset management system… Ivell said that Oracle UCM will enable the organisation to consolidate its digital assets,which are currently in different formats. These range from scanned documents from 250 years ago, pictures of plants and seeds and pictures painted in the grounds, to a picture library for the media, videos and letters from Charles Darwin.” [Read More]
