Featured Job – Digital Asset Librarian, The Philadelphia Museum of Art – 28th June 2024
This week’s featured opening is for a Digital Asset Librarian with the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Library and Digital Strategies, the successful candidate will have at least three years’ working experience of stewarding museum collections or image libraries, with a skillset that includes database management, rights management, metadata standards, archiving, print and media technologies, and data migration. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining and documenting the organisation’s DAM system (Orange Logic) and associated policies, workflows and goals, determining if collections are in scope for ingestion and processing, performing database administration, ensuring metadata, vocabularies and taxonomies are accurate and up-to-date, fostering DAM adoption via user training and support, and supervising the Digital Asset Specialist.
“The successful candidate will recommend system enhancements, maintain developed syncs with other platforms, streamline DAMS workflows, and provide training for all levels of staff. They will collaborate with Counsel on creating and maintaining institutional governance on image rights policies and stances.
