DAM Vendor Directory Updates: Vendor Comparison and Visual Search
The recently relaunched DAM News Vendor Directory has just been updated with a couple of new features to assist in narrowing down your vendor selection criteria. For those that missed the press release, you can read more about the new vendor directory at the following link.

Vendor Comparison
This allows visitors to display up to four vendors, side-by-side, in a table that compares over 50 features and functions of the selected DAM systems. The information displayed includes low level functionality and technologies such as licensing and hosting models, operating system, database and search, plus features such as whether the DAM has a service oriented architecture, follows an API-first model, or allows metadata import/export. You can also compare a range of common integrations including creative apps, office and productivity tools, rights management, e-commerce, social media, marketing, artificial intelligence, PIM (product information management), and CMS (content management systems). Links to comparisons are also provided for convenient sharing.
Visual Search
This option allows vendors to specify whether or not their DAM platform supports visual search, or searches that do not explicitly rely on tagging or metadata. An example of this functionality is MerlinOne’s NOMAD (no metadata) technology that leverages AI and image recognition technology to search assets based solely on their visual appearance. As yet, no vendors have specified that they support this feature (hint), although we know that a number of DAM platforms have definitely implemented it.
Vendor representatives that haven’t yet claimed their profiles are urged to sign up for a free subscriber account in order to take ownership of their directory entries and provide the most accurate and up-to-date information.
