Featured Job – Digital Archivist, Johns Hopkins University – 8th April 2022
This week’s featured job is for a Digital Archivist with prestigious US private research establishment, the Johns Hopkins University. With at least 3 years of professional library experience (MLIS), the successful candidate will undertake a broad range of disciplines, primarily responsible for the management and preservation of the Chesney Archives. Overseeing both born-digital and digitized material, additional duties will include digital curation, establishing workflows and guidelines, data migration of legacy media, implementing quality control standards and stewardship of archives, ingestion of rights and metadata, and providing analytical reporting and feedback.
“The Digital Archivist is to oversee administration and preservation of born-digital and digitized collection assets. Legal regulations, in particular HIPAA and FERPA, apply to all aspects of work performed by the Digital Archivist and Chesney Archives staff. Other responsibilities include support of initiatives to advance collection management and goals for access and use of digital collections of the Chesney Archives.
