Job Description
Purpose of Role:
The Lowes.com Taxonomy Analyst is the strategist, researcher and implementation expert for the product hierarchy and leaf node data schemas for Lowe's product marketing data across all Lowes.com platforms.

Purpose of Role:
The Lowes.com Taxonomy Analyst is the strategist, researcher and implementation expert for the product hierarchy and leaf node data schemas for Lowe's product marketing data across all Lowes.com platforms.
Responsibility Statements:
- Researches, designs, recommends and implements the online taxonomy architecture for assigned merchandising divisions.
- Designs, develops and optimizes faceted taxonomy schema in order to create a best-in-class left navigation experience for customers of Lowes.com.
- Performs extensive product marketing data research to determine best-in-class merchandising characteristics.
- Facilitates collaborative review of PSSAs with Merchandising, Online Category Managers, vendors, Online Search, SEO Management, Product Information and other business partners.
- Provides daily project management and monitoring for all controlled vocabulary development in collaboration with Content Integration Architects, Merchandising, Online Category Management, vendors and Product Information Managers.
- Researches and assigns metadata to product-level data schemas.
- Works collaboratively with Product Information to assure the controlled vocabulary for all product data aligns with enterprise standards.
- Assists Content Integration Architects with the design and implementation of ontological integration schema for thousands of non-product articles and videos on Lowes.com.
- Provides advice regarding main navigation and landing page navigation to User Experience and Online Category Managers.
- Assists with the design and implementation of taxonomy tests, including card sorts, tree tests, wireframe tests and eye-tracking tests.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2+ years eCommerce retail experience
- Ability to think strategically, analytical minded, project management experience, excellent proofreading skills, ability to adhere to strict governance and reporting process
- Experience using SharePoint
- Intermediate level Excel skill
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s Degree
- 4+ years eCommerce retail experience
- Experience architecting and managing taxonomy and ontology on a retail website
- Experience working in Synaptica or other professional taxonomy/ontology management software
