The Senior Digital Content Specialist is responsible for executing and optimizing content strategies to support broader digital business goals and enhance the customer experience on dsw.com. This role is accountable for owning and executing key focus areas, ensuring quality and accuracy across site content while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless and engaging experiences. The Senior Digital Content Specialist contributes to seasonal and operational excellence by developing optimized content strategies and maintaining site standards.

Reports to: Manager, Digital Content

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, brief, and build content strategies that align with broader digital business goals and strategies.
  • Create and execute content segmentation strategies tailored to specific customer groups or initiatives.
  • Periodically write or edit messaging/editorial copy based on digital business needs (Aligning with marketing brand guidelines and best practices).
  • Conduct competitive monitoring and analysis to stay informed on relevant messaging trends and best practices.
  • Support in executing site content updates using the content management system (CMS).
  • Support in validating that all content is consistently executed across all platforms and adheres to standards and guidelines.
  • Support with QA/Validation testing.
  • Partner with technical and digital teams to implement new functionalities and support content updates for major projects and sprints.
  • Responsible for strategizing and maintaining assets and experiences tied back to seasonal campaigns and business goals.
  • Responsible for all sitewide operational and promotional messages as well as managing and coordinating weekly site preview testing meetings.
  • Support the workflow of tasks for our broader digital business and marketing initiatives using AirTable
Required Skills and Competencies:

Required Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Content and/or production brief writing experience
  • Experience with content management systems and DAM tools (Bynder and Strapi a plus)
  • Experience writing and/or editing digital content for retail or fashion websites, directional understanding of SEO keyword strategies a plus.
  • Experience with workflow platforms (Miro and Airtable a plus)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive insights from data.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work across multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other digital tools is a plus.

Qualifications Experience:

Minimum Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in digital content strategy, e-commerce, or related fields.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with Content Management System (CMS) tools
  • Experience with Workflow & Briefing Tools
  • Omniture, Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics experience ·
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with e-commerce platforms, CMS tools, and SEO strategies.
  • Familiarity with competitive analysis techniques and messaging trends.
Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
